Alma, the elder, was a priest of wicked King Noah. He believed the testimony of the prophet Abinadi and recorded his words. Alma repented of his sins and became a courageous servant of God. The Book of Mormon tells how he taught, baptized, and ordained priests at a place called the Waters of Mormon. Later, Alma established the Church of Christ throughout Zarahemla and taught the people to trust in the Lord.
