Mike McPheters, author of Agent Bishop, is back with the harrowing account of a Mexican-American family caught in the crossfire between the Vultures, a dangerous drug cartel, and US Homeland Security. Based on a true story, Cartels and Combinations proves the reality of latter-day evil and how we can find protection and peace in heeding the words of ancient and modern prophets and apostles alike.

Great Intrigue! Can't Put It Down.

Manolo, UT - December 08, 2010

Mike has hit another homerun with Cartels and Combinations. If the Book of Mormon were written in our day, this book would fit nicely into references to Gadianton Robbers and secret combinations.

As we read a few verses of scripture each night, I pull this book out and read it. The family is most intrigued by what takes place. I haven't had this much interest in our nightly scripture reading since the days of the Work & Glory series.

This is all tongue in cheek, so to speak. Seriously, the book isn't that great. Just another trite novel put out by the company with low standards. And why is Mike arranging firesides to tout his book? This seems inappropriate.
