Courageous: Honor Begins at Home (DVD)
Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they're quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark.
When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God ... and to their children?
Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Viewers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.
Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.

This movie is so good. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must (have a box of kleenex nearby though, don’t say I didn’t warn you)! Courageous is the story of five friends who, in the face of tragedy, dedicate their lives to being more honorable men and fathers. Each of the men come from different backgrounds with different familial struggles. Courageous is a great movie for reasons other than the moral of the story, however. The plot is amazing with so many different dimensions. They take the time to let you get to know each of the characters and it doesn’t at all feel rushed or forced... I recommend this Movie to everyone. I came away inspired, with a resolve to be a better husband, father and man. I have arranged to have it presented to the Priesthood of my Ward. It is the type of Movie that can reach a broad audience, no matter what your personal background, level of faith or experience. It stirs a deep, original yearning to be associated with men of God and to be worthy of that type of companionship. It conveys with sophistication and appropriateness the deep seated values of the Priesthood and Parenthood. It is good, virtuous and praiseworthy. It speaks to many levels of fatherhood and the joy of developing a relationship with our Heavenly Father. It has action and is extremely entertaining. It is romantic, spiritual and humorous. I will remember this Movie and draw upon its message for years. I came away happy, and thoughtful. It is emotionally moving. Well worth my time. J. Mark Smedley

Every young man and every father should see this movie. Every young woman will have a much better idea of the character values and traits she wants in a young man after watching this film, in particular, she will better know his commitment to God and to family. This film has a wonderful emphasis on courage, faith and redemption. This film emphasizes that every one of us can covenant to try harder and be the best we know how to be. We can do the very hard things-especially under the most difficult circumstances because of our hope from, our faith in, and our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
