I must say I was surprised to see the ringing 'accolades' for this book in the other reviews. I admit that the man may know his doctrine but the prideful manner in which he gives some of his answers leaves me cold. I have a friend who was interested in the Gospel and wondered why all religions didn't 'debate so the truth would come out'. The missionaries suggested this book. I am so grateful I read it before I gave it to her. Now I am stuck with two books and a sour taste in my mouth. Be sure this is what you want to read... before you buy. I wish I had.

SWEET!!! I have had so many of these questions posed to me as a missionary and it helped me to find the answer to answer some of those anti questions, didn't really have much of an impact on strengthening my testimony, but my confidence in being able to have an answer from the Bible to show the show me state(Missouri) that we are Christ's church restored to the earth in these latter days. the Missionary Pal is good for references too.

I recommend only reading this book if you have a strong testimony in the Gospel and are looking to gain referential knowledge of our doctrines. I don't think bashing is the Lord's way, but the contents of the book is really complete and there really isn't any other book out there that is laid out the way this one is. I enjoyed the knowledge that I gained. If you have a lot of non-member friends or family, or are subject to consistent religious criticism, then this book might be a good tool for you.

I have several copies of this book that I give to my children when they are old enough along with a few others. I love to share the gospel. Testimonies are based on the Spirit, not in winning an argument. However, there is nothing like being in a situation where very tough questions are asked by someone who really wants to know, and you know the answer, or how to derive it, because you read this book. I think that every member high school age and above should have both barrels loaded with information in this book and others. It is written in a style that inspires confidence and gives the reader good information on a variety of gospel questions, that I still get to this day! Thanks to the author for taking the time to write this in a form that makes the information understandable and easy to remember. It is a great read and a great reference. It is unapologetic, as it should be, and is therefore not something to give to an investigator in my opinion. There are definitely scenarios where I'm glad I had read this book. If you're looking for a book with answers to almost any question one would get as a missionary, this is the book for you. Read this book. Go forth and spread the gospel and don't worry about getting questions. If you need the answers that you have read in this book, they will come to you when you need them. This compliments the basics quite well in my opinion.
