About the Author
Hoyt W. Brewster Jr., a former instructor in the Seminary and Institute program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was managing director of the Priesthood Department of the Church, served on or chaired several general Church committees, and was director of the Mormon Trail Center in Florence, Nebraska.

this explains many phrases in the doctrine and covenants, and talks about a lot of people in the early church. Great resource for studying
