Product Description
In the spring of 1820, a boy of fourteen knelt in the quiet grove in Palmyra, New York. Having resolved to determine which of all the Christian denominations were true during this time of tumultuous religious contestation, the boy Joseph Smith had retired to a wood to do as James directed in the Bible and “ask of God.” From his written words we read of the First Vision, which now marks the beginning of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: “When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other — This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” — Joseph Smith-History, Verse 17.

Ray Johnson does amazing artwork (I have one of his pieces hanging in my home), so it's nice to see that Deseret Book has begun to carry this local artist's work. His collages have a lot of detail that you would need to see first-hand to appreciate (I don't think the small image here does it justice).
