About the Author
Concerned with PG-13 rating?

This story is based on Coach Larry Gelwix and is about high school age young men. Rugby is a contact sport and there are some great shots of the game, but a little rough at times. However, the real story here is how character and building boys into respectable young men is worth the trials along the way. Because of the experience of overcoming drinking, drugs, parties and that life style, some of that is depicted, but very tastefully and the influence of friends (both boys and girls)is very apparent. I watched it with my young men and we had a great discussion afterwards about what they saw, felt and learned. It is a great movie with a message.
We loved this movie

When I saw the advertising for this movie, we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. We drove 1 hour away to see it with our boys and thought that the message that was there was great. We live on the East Coast and my kids have to put up with all kinds of things everyday, so I thought it was applicable to what they already know with a great message.
5 stars!

Our family loves this movie! We have also been able to share it with many non-member friends including the football coach who then showed it to the football team. A great movie with a great message!
truly inspirational

movies do not come along enough today which inspire, teach the lessons which each of us need to learn to succeed in this mortal life. the lessons taught in the end are what each should teach our children, ourselves and others. watch the extra's at the end of the DVD. good to use in YM/YW
Entertaining, but poor standards

I love rugby and very much enjoyed the underlying story, however I felt that it could have been told and done just fine without the scantily-clad women and alcoholic party scenes. Other films have managed to hint at these things without glamorizing them; and I hoped this film would also, but no. I had someone in mind that I would have sent this as a gift to, but I cannot because of those scenes. I will throw it away being a bit disappointed.
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

This was a wonderful movie that was able to reach even nonmembers!! I was very happy that it showed some "real life" situations involving teens. I was concerned that it would be "too Mormony" for my nonmember friends but they all loved it so much! My husband is a trainer and he trains teenage athletes. The ones that have seen this say this movie is in their top favorite sports movies of all time. What a great storyline and motivator for kids to make right choices!!
Worth It

I live in Australia and was dissapointed when I saw that you don't ship this outside the US but found I could get it quicker anyway by ordering it from sanity.com.au a local music store. I showed it to my Young Women and it went down well. It is rated M here in Australia though, I already have a waiting list of people who want to borrow it from me haha
Not Just a Rugby Movie! This movie is for everyone!

This movie has power in its message. It's one that every person needs hear and see. As a former HR player, this program changed my life! Larry Gelwix is the real deal, he's the best coach I have ever played for. This movie gives you insight on why. If you want to see a wholesome movie that makes you want to be a better person, this movie is for you.

Well worth it

I had pre ordered this movie, based on the Rugby factor. I was not disappointed. It is a fantastic movie, and has a very worthwhile message. It has been a very well watched movie in our area. All parents and teens who have watched it have said that they would watch it again and many have. It was even played at a 21st just recently and everyone enjoyed it. I think it is perfect for all our youth groups and the messages in it, are what our youth of today are facing, drinking, drugs, sex, violence and inappropriate dress.
Fantastic movie & message

This movie was fantastic. The story is moving and makes you want to be a better person. The message is wonderful and the acting great. I am so glad they got some well-known stars to take part in this film. This has now become one of my favorite movies of all times. Watch it!!!
Captivating & Real

This movie helped teach our Young Women a powerful message in a non-preachy fashion. They all loved it. I appreaciated that the worldly temptations were made to look so inticing - because in reality they are & it takes courage & a strong belief system to turn away from it. Great to see copies of it in our local DVD store. That was 112 minutes well spent.
Very Impressed

Oh my word. I absolutely loved this movie. It was just wonderful! So good, with a great message. It hits hard for teens and young adults my age, and I am so impressed with how this young man handles the situation he finds himself in. Love it!
Great

This movie really opens my world of sports. I never thought rugby was so cool! This movie deserves two thumbs up. It's about a boy who is really going down the wrong path. He turns his life around in a detention center. He is given the opportunity to play rugby to get out of the detention center for times. After he gets out of the center, he is determined to stay FOREVER STRONG. This movie is great and I recommend it to you.
The Best!

Wonderful movie. True story of a rugby player who goes through some rough times. This movie has a wonderful ending between father and son. I especially love the Haka or war chant. Always gives me the chills. This is a movie that I think everyone will enjoy.
Family Favorite - especially for my teens!
by Kelly - reviewed on February 19, 2011
We watch this movie many times a year. My kids LOVE it! The message is great. The mature themes that give it a PG-13 rating are dealt with well in this movie. The consequences of poor decisions are addressed - so unlike the typical movies today. But if you do have a problem with your younger children watching PG-13, get the ClearPlay DVD player. Love that technology!
Great Movie for all ages!

Our family loves this movie. What's great is that even people who aren't of our faith still enjoy it. The message behind it is a wonderful lesson and is great for teens. We love this movie!

This is a movie that is is really good. It isn't a fluffy piece thrown together like so many others. Loved it--especially knowing that it's based on a true story. Great family film.
