Sister Dew is always clever and spiritual and writes well. She describes her point and gets it across. But this book was not as good as her other ones.

Raising the bar on righteous living!

by Ramona - reviewed on January 09, 2008

Once again Sheri inspires readers to do more and be more of what the Lord intended. Raising the bar on righteousness seems to be her clarion call. In this book you'll find lots of supporting scriptures and quotes from the Brethren, along with stories and anecdotes in the usual 'Sheri' style that clarify and support the principles she is expounding. There is great power in immersing oneself in true doctrine and as usual Sheri is top notch in giving you that! I highly recommend this additional bar-raising book!! Thanks again Sister Dew.

As usual Sheri Dew lays it out so anyone can understand the message.

by Customer - reviewed on October 22, 2007

As usual - Sheri Dew lays it out so anyone can understand exactly the message she is trying to touch your heart with. I would suggest reading 'No One Can Take Your Place' by her also. In fact, I would suggest you read that first then 'God Wants a Powerful People', but it is not necessary to do so. Now Ms. Dew, we wait for your next wonderful book. -J Rexburg

Powerful Inspiration

by Debra - reviewed on April 25, 2008

Sheri Dew is one of the most reliable authors I know of. In other words, when she undertakes to write a book entitled GOD WANTS A POWERFUL PEOPLE you know she'll deliver. And deliver she does. Sister Dew is undoubtedly a woman who knows who she is (a daughter of God) and feels that there is little time to waste in doing something other than what she was sent here to do. She not only blesses us with her spiritual strength, but she consistently encourages us to increase our own spiritual strength. Here's just one example (from page 59) 'Because of our Father and His Son, we don't have to run our leg of the relay alone. We have access to the greatest and grandest of all power. And when we have the power of God with us, we truly can do all things.' Sister Dew supports each of her points with core gospel doctrine, quoting powerful scriptures and inspired church leaders. Another aspect of Sister Dew's books that makes them so engaging, so inspirational is that she has a real gift for interweaving personal anecdotes into the messages she wants to share. In fact, she is a masterful storyteller. If you're looking to strengthen your testimony and understanding of the gospel, you can't go wrong with a book by Sheri Dew. -- Debra Sansing Woods, author of MOTHERING WITH SPIRITUAL POWER Book of Mormon Inspirations for Raising a Righteous Family and IT'S OKAY TO TAKE A NAP and Other Reassuring Truths for Mothers Everywhere

Worth the read

by SM - reviewed on October 09, 2008

The author masterfully presents her case that God wants a powerful people and each chapter usually has a personal experience to bring the point home. I found it my favorite out of the ones she has already written - maybe because it is so doctrinal based.
