Golgotha is a necessary sequel to Gethsemane, for what began in the garden of Gethsemane was completed on Golgotha's hill as well as in the Garden Tomb. In Gethsemane Jesus consumed the bitter cup so that we would not have to. On Golgotha's hill the bitter cup was refilled and drunk again. In this second book of Andrew Skinner's trilogy about the Atonement, we are drawn into the events surrounding the crucifixion of the Lord. The author brings scriptural and historical insights to bear on his discussion of what he calls "as profound a story of unsurpassed concern for others in the face of violent treatment as will ever be found."

Will make your Easter more spiritual

SM, NE - October 23, 2008

The author speculates in a few spots but the overall sound doctrine it presents and how well it is presented makes it worth the read and then some. It is one book that could be read every Easter.
