Got the book yesterday afternoon in the mail and finished it about 1:30 this morning. I never stay up that late to read anything! Even the 'book who shall not be named' that is being released in July. , This is without a doubt the best series on the latter days. I recommend it to the youth in our ward every chance I get, and loan out my copies so they can read it and understand who they really are and how important their contribution is in this the dispensation of the fullness of times. Brother Stewart's juxtaposition of the Spirit with the techno-thriller story line is moving and chilling. I caught myself more than once last night reviewing my emergency plans. This is a must read.
Non-stop Wonderful

Couldn't put it down. Chris keeps you guessing at every turn. The bottom line: when you rely on the spirit to guide you, the Lord will get you to the right place at the right time to accomplish the mission He has for you. I cried when Sam was reunited with his family and blessed his brother. Wonderful foreshadowing of the times ahead.
Great Read but the ending was a little to abrupt.

As usual Chris's book was a great read, with heart failing excitment and spiritual uplift. I gave this book four stars because of its abrupt ending. It could of and should have been fleshed out better. I wondered if he has grown weary of the series or if he only meant to take it to the reuniting of the spiritual family. Chris may I ask that you take this family through the second coming and not lose interest in the extended Brighton family.

A must read for every reader. Chris Stewart makes this series so realistic just like the way it may have happened all the way through how it could happen. This series has opened my eyes to really being prepared for the unknown.

The Great and Terrible Vol 4: Fury and Light by Chris Stewart This installmen of Chris's fantastic and mesmerizing end days series was the best thus far in my book. I thoroughly enjoyed an d was held spellbound by what was happening to the Brighton's along the way after the aftermath of an EMP devastated America. It showed how miracles can still happen amidst chaos, even with Satan and his minions doing their dastardly evil. This volume shows how an EMP throws America back to the pre-industrial age and how we as Americans would have to survive with more ancient modes of travel and survival. Since I just started Vol. 5 in this fantastic thriller, you'll be getting a review soon and of vol. 6 as well. If you haven't read these books, do yourself a huge favor and do so, you'll be glad you did.
I can not wait for the next book.

Wow!! I have not been able to put any of the books in this series down, and Volume 4 is no different. Chris Stewart is brilliant in providing us with a realistic story that makes us think about our own preparedness, both temporal and spiritual. I absolutely can not wait for the next book.
The book was written in a way that makes one think about family and priesthood and the strength of our young men and women in these times.

As I finished the latest book V4 in this series I realized that Chris Stewart had done it again, that is he has written a book that captivated me and I 'had' to finish it. There were parts in the book that gave me that 'tingling' feeling when he spoke of the priesthood in a tasteful and sacred manner. Overall the book was written in a way that makes one think about family and priesthood and the strength of our young men and women in these times. Great job...I am interested to see where they go from here.

I have enjoyed every single Chris Stewart book that I've read. This is an excellent narration of possible events as we approach the last days, it will be a scary time for all the unprepared.

WOW!!! Being in the military, this book quenches the thirst of any military buff and it also fills a spiritual void that shows Heavenly Father's hand in our lives and the power of discouragement that is felt when we try to do what's right but the powers of darkness cloud our judgment. This book is an IN-YOUR-FACE look at what could happen in the world today. So when is book 5 coming out?

Terrific book. Frightening to know that our country could be this vulnerable. It's the plausability of this series that makes it a real eye opener. If this does't get people's emergency planning going, nothing will.

Chris Stewart's The Great and Terrible series has been incredibly entertaining while at the same time very inspiring. I bought the first book in the series at a Deseret Book store in Arizona. They said many people compared it to Harry Potter. I have enjoyed this series even more than Harry Potter but they are alike in a couple of ways. You can't put the book down and then you can't wait until the next book comes out. This book 'Fury and Light' was as entertaining as it was scary. Because of Chris's military background he writes about real weapons that could be used here in the United States. The worst part about this book was when it was over. I recommend this series to everyone.

Never has an author been as brilliant at combining the Gospel matrix so seamlessly with today's ominous types and shadows. We are experiencing the last days . . . there will be a last day sooner than we might expect. The awesome underpinning of Chris' series is that with the coming tumult will be an opportunity for God's hand to be seen as never before, working modern day miracles amongst His children in the struggle between good and evil that is now unfolding before our eyes. Fury and light indeed! The Great and Terrible volumes cannot be ignored, nor can my blatant greed for the next offering from Chris Stewart!
Great, but a little disappointing

I love this series, this volume and this author but was left disappointed at the end of 'Fury and Light'. The story line is great, superb, exciting and wonderful. However, as the author is ex-military I was disappointed to see several glaring errors in small arms talk (caliber '7.61', a U.S. serviceman with a presumably issued Glock, a Beretta Model 90-TWO, and many other small details wrong). I'd love to be Chris' small arms consultant for the next volume! The most disappointing part was the feeling that the book just ended too abruptly - not cliffhanger style, it just felt to me like it ended to meet a publishing deadline. It needed half dozen more chapters at least to end at a natural stopping point. Hopefully Vol. 5 will be as good as Vol. 3 was.
Literary dream come true!

Just finished the book with very mixed feelings... loved the wild ride, but hate to have to wait for the next book. My wife says she's never seen me finish a book so quickly. Sure, there were small errors in the book, but I've never read a book without errors. However, I've never read a series of books that has captured my interest so completely. To have my fascination for military techno-thrillers re-enforced with the real-life practice of my religion is a literary dream come true!

The spiritual side of this book is very good and actually speaks of some experiences that I have had while on active duty. This book testifies of Chris Stewart's understanding of many aspects of the gospel which have to be lived to understand. Very good military pilot details for both helicopter and fixed wing including many detalis about hardware, but missed the special ops stuff to some extent. Overall, it has been a great series and I have been spell bound. Lots to think about. Recommended to all.

This volume is my favorite of the series so far. It bears witness to me of the awesome power of the priesthood and gives me courage and strength to battle the adversary. I love this book!
Gripping Cheesiness!

While this story does suck you in, and has some great descriptions of military tactics & disaster scenarios, I was LAUGHING OUT LOUD at the ridiculous coincidences! I am borrowing this series because my friend loves it, and I am interested to see how it ends, but I wouldn't buy it. Here's the summary of the first 4 books: A perfect Mormon family is prewarned by God so nothing bad ever happens to them. Satan himself is around to gnash his teeth & say "I hate this family!" The good guys always win fist fights, but never kill their enemies; angels & navigational spiritual promptings supercede their thinking and free will. All bad guys wear black leather, have a *dark look* in their eye, are drunk, and are bigots. If you need a doctor, a boat, $20,000, a parachute, a house key, a rich friend who can walk to Pakistan, or bomb-proof basement, no problem, God/this author provides! I already know how the last books will end. The U.S. will triumph, the Arabian bad guy will be killed, the young prince will be rescued & reinthroned, & Azedah will inherit a lot of money & marry one of the perfect family's sons. All who interact with perfect family will be converted by the light in their faces, a tear in their eye, and a warm fuzzy feeling! This book is not about earth life, because it's a black-&-white, chicken-soup, Saturday's-warrior, 1/2 hour sitcom book. Our REAL earth-life test is to prove we will be faithful despite bad guys who ARE NOT punished, family members who die & DON'T leave a spiritual voicemail for us, children who DON'T return to the fold, and NOT KNOWING all the answers. Cheesy, but I like the idea of tackling a story including the influence of the spirit world & war in heaven.
Love the book, hate the format

I love these books by Chris Stewart, but if I am going to pay $20 to download the audiobook, I want it properly encoded in an audiobook file, not a bunch of MP3s that I have to convert on my own.
