Product Description
This best-selling book is about awakening — becoming a whole new creature in Christ by putting God first, ridding one's self of pride, and developing a relationship with God that is closer and sweeter than any other. It's about being delivered from the bondage of lies, recovered by the Spirit of Truth, Jesus Christ.
This study guide assists Latter-day Saints in understanding the principles of the gospel that harmonize so perfectly with the principles in each of the Twelve Steps. Each chapter is woven around a powerful collection of Book of Mormon scriptures and quotes from latter-day prophets. Thousands of people have already been blessed with increased recovery from otherwise insurmountable problems — addiction, compulsive behaviors, depression, trauma, abuse in childhood or as an adult, as well as the loss of a loved one — by focusing these true principles on their particular challenges. He Did Deliver Me from Bondage conveys a profound testimony that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is equal to any challenge we face.

A book for everyone

This book is for everyone. It helps us understand how the scriptures hold the knowledge we need to be reconciled to God and to really look at the other things we have been turning to instead. It doesn't have to be alcohol or drugs or food- even perfectionism or an addiction to approval keep us from him. This is not an easy book. It asks difficult and soul-searching questions but the process of questioning and searching will bring you closer to the Savior.

Kia ora, , This book has helped me understand and capture my own personal revelations and understanding of the Atonement. In doing so I am closer than I have ever been to Christ to whom I thank everyday for all things. I understand the meaning of nothingness and being of the dust of the earth, this knowledge helps me to be in tune with the Holy Ghost and receive direct inspiration from God.
This is a Great Book for men who suffer

I cannot give this book enough praise. It ought to be required reading for all LDS members, whether or not you initially feel you have no addictions to overcome. I used this book in a California prison focus group led by a psychiatric technician from a state hospital (he's also a Stake High Council member). It is absolutely wonderful; eloquently written, scripturally founded and doctrinally sound advice and exercises to help you understand your addiction and access the Source of help to overcome.
