As mentioned several times in scripture, Jesus is “The Holy One Of Israel.” (Title used 34 times in the Old Testament.) My trust in Him grew recently as I had the opportunity to tour The Holy Land. Visiting the Holy Land is a life changing experience and since being there I don't read the scriptures in quite the same way. Do you remember the story where a resurrected Jesus walked on the road to Emmaus with two of His disciples?

Well, I actually saw that road. And as I stood there I remembered that after their experience with the Savior on the road to Emmaus the disciples remarked, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32.) This same thing happened to me on my recent trip. I felt the power of the familiar scripture stories as I experienced first-hand the sights and sounds of the land that give all of us such a rich spiritual heritage. And my heart definitely did burn within me as I learned more about and contemplated the life of our Savior, The Holy One of Israel! I hope this painting may invoke some of these same feelings in you.
