Amazing

I first heard these tapes on my mission (as I'm sure most missionaries have), and I was amazed at how these brought the Prophet Joseph and Church History alive to me. Truman Madsen's delivery of these gems is well done. He keeps us licking our chops for the next tasty tidbit. Excellent!

If you are a non-reader like myself, then you will love this book on CD. I have read this CD 118 times. The words, 'Joseph Smith the Prophet' never gets old.' If you don't know a word, just pop in you Webster's Dictionary CD.

Of all the talks on CD that are available at Deseret Book, I would buy this one first.
Great Work!

This CD, 'Joseph Smith, The Prophet', a discussion given by Truman G. Madsen is truly the best resource on the prophet. His knowledge and appreciation for Joseph Smith brings his discussion alive. He is able to keep the attention of his audience by being dramatic and outgoing in his delivery. In having listened to these set of CDs more than twice I have learned something new each time. The only problem with the CDs is that you do not have the citations available as you would in the book format. (Which is the reasoning behind given this format a four rather than a five)Other than that fact the content and discussion is excellent, and I highly recommend it as a resource for further knowledge on the prophet's life and teachings. *As a side note I would also recommend Mark L. McConkie's discussions on 'Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration'.*
