The Lord of Hosts depicts the Savior, Jesus Christ, in the Temple during passover. Standing in a hallway corridor looking out into the courtyard contemplating what lies ahead for Him, He would shortly atone for the sins of the world and be crucified. He spent some time in His Fathers house before these events were to take place. What an example for us. This mortal life is full of trials and struggles of our own. We should be found in our Fathers home more often to receive the strength we need to over come our bitter cups. "Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts" (Malachi 3:10) The Lord would have us test Him or “Prove” Him by obedience to all of His commandments. He wants to bless us in all of our needs in life and can only do so by our obedience to His Father’s commandments.
