He says that a true friend can help you make wise choices and can even save your life. “A real friend will stand between their friend and a horrible choice and at least say something,” emphasizes Brother Smith. “Your friend might just say ‘forget you,’ but at least they’ll know you said something. Sometimes in order to save the friend you have to ruin the friendship.”
Brother Smith encourages youth to avoid risking their future on bad friends and above all to “become friends with Jesus Christ. He will greatly influence how you think and act. Let Him determine the person you will become.”

About the Author
Hank Smith teaching in the Religious Education Department at BYU and is a favorite speaker for Especially for Youth, Best of Especially for Youth, and BYU Education Week. Hank and his wife, Sara, were both born and raised in St. George, Utah. They are the parents of one daughter and two sons. Brother Smith enjoys running marathons and eating lots and lots of ice cream (which is why he runs marathons). More than anything else, he loves being at home spending all day with his wife and children.

This CD is incredible. Hank Smith is such a phenomenal speaker; the CD teaches powerful principles in such a fun way that my kids want to listen to it over and over again. We know talk about going into "friend worship mode" and it's very helpful.

I love this! It was so good, I recommend this to anyone, especially those with children. Brother Smith is funny and uplifting, so glad to have this in our home!

Absolutely loved Hank's newest CD! I put it in the CD player in my car and played it while I was driving the carpool each morning to school! All the kids, mine included, absolutely loved the stories and were all sad when it was over. So we listened to it a second time. Thank you Hank for making materials that are not only uplifting, but so entertaining that you are the talk of the carpool.
