Mothering with Spiritual Power is an eloquent and heartfelt book that speaks to mothers of the sacred nature of motherhood and the awesome spiritual power available to them through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Using twenty-five favorite Book of Mormon scriptures as inspiration, Debra Woods shows mothers how they can find answers to a myriad of parenting questions and challenges as they raise their children in the latter days. Through stories and experiences taken from her own life, she offers simple suggestions for making meaningful connections with your children — suggestions on how to turn weaknesses into strengths, ideas on how to foster an atmosphere of peace and harmony, ways in which mothers can support each other, helps for the mother who must forgive her children and herself, and so much more.
Mothering with Spiritual Power is a celebration of motherhood, family life, and the difference the gospel of Jesus Christ can make for mothers and families everywhere.

The best parenting book on the market, besides the Book of Mormon itself
by Victoria - reviewed on September 16, 2007
One can understand why 'Mothering with Spiritual Power' became the editor's pick for LDS Living Magazine. It gives hope and power to mothers in a world where too little recognition is given to this sacred calling. It is a perfect gift book for mothers at any stage of their parenting journey, as it shows how to glean strength and wisdom from the Book of Mormon in our mothering stewardship. , Debra Woods has poured her heart and soul into 'Mothering's' pages, without ever slipping off the rock of the gospel Jesus Christ. The examples are true, the writing is smooth, and mothers everywhere will nod their heads in recognition to the scenarios described, as well as feel enlightened and uplifted by its spiritual core. Speaking as one mother to another, she gets to the essence of so many issues facing mothers today. , I want to emphasize that 'Mothering with Spiritual Power' is a ray of HOPE (written in a can-do spirit), not an impossibly elevated standard for self-critical mothers to feel out-shone by. It truly is an asset and will help deepen one's study and appreciation of the Book of Mormon. Purchase it today, and you won't regret it! , --Victoria Fisher, mother of three

An inspiring read. The only book I know of that so fully likens Book of Mormon scriptures unto our mothering and family lives. I highly recommend this book and the author's second book, __It's Okay to Take a Nap: and Other Reassuring Truths for Mothers Everywhere__
