Dowdle Folk Art Puzzles are one of the most popular ways to enjoy Eric's artwork. Enjoy it over and over again or mount it and frame it for a fun decoration.
Settlers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints settled in Commerce, Illinois in 1839. They renamed the city Nauvoo, which means “beautiful place.” Anyone who has been to Nauvoo will tell you that it is indeed a beautiful place filled with a rich history. The Mormon settlers were expelled from the community by violent mobs in 1846 and their beloved temple was destroyed in 1848. The LDS church reacquired the former temple grounds in 1937 and in 2002, dedicated a new temple fashioned after the old one. Visiting the city is a little bit like going back in time, with its well-maintained historical buildings, and the opportunity to see people dressed in 19th-century garb, demonstrating activities and trades of that time. This puzzle is sure to please the entire family from young to old. Build your own memories by doing a puzzle today!
