This was one of the best movies I have seen. I would recommend it to everyone to watch WITH YOUR FAMILY. Wonderfully done

All ages in my family enjoyed this show. Even those who said "not another church movie" really loved it! Highly recomend!

I loved it, it could have been a bit longer and 5.1 surround sound would have been nice, but the movie was brilliant. I really want Chris to do the Tennis Shoes but am also scared that it won't be exactly like I imagined it.
High Quality Entertainment.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this new video. The actors were realistic and believeable and the film editing was superior. Some LDS made movies are not high quality, truly Passage to Zarahemla is. I hope we will see more of Chris Heimerdinger's work on video, and soon.
No one else has had the vision to do something like this.

Maybe people don't understand how much money it takes to create a fantasy film but I have waited a long time for someone to take a chance and create a great story around the Book of Mormon and this is it. Solid acting, good/great casting and a compelling story. And he even walked the balance of making it family friendly - I mean that my kids (from 5 to 13) all enjoyed it. Yes there were scary parts that made my boys hid there heads but that was exactly what kept them so engaged! The danger seemed real and they cared about the characters. I am proud to have this movie in my library and hope you will support a talented filmmaker who really put himself out there to share a vision of bringing the scriptures to life. It is one of the few LDS movies that I really like!
Great Book of Mormon Themed Movie
by Customer - reviewed on September 23, 2008
This movie was so much better than most of the "LDS" movies out there. The filming, acting and scenery were all excellent. I haven't watched the alternate version as my kids are all teenagers now.
Another great movie!

I thought this was a great movie! There are two versions on the DVD, one is a bit more frightening than the other. I haven't let my younger kids watch this, the content is more mature.
One of the best church movies!

We watched the less intense version, and it was fantastic! Definitely a 5 star movie! Loved how this really brought you into the Book of Mormon. The plot kept you guessing to the end! Great acting, music, picture and special effects! This is one you'll want to own and watch over and over again. I would recommend for ages 8+, young children may be frightened. I hope Chris Heimerdinger does a sequel movie!

It is a great movie!
Super Fantastic, reveting, spell-binding, keep it up Chris!

I saw this movie when it first came out and I have the book, too. I couldn't wait to see what Chris had done with the book to become such a fantastic adventure. I hope this is just the beginning of many more fantastic movies to come in the future. How about the Tennis Shoes among the Nephites movie? Thanks for making it enjoyable to attend a movie of this caliber and not worrry about closing my grandchildren's or my eyes during the 'bad scences'.
A Movie worth owning

This movie is fantastic! I went to the premier in California with my kids and everybody was drawn in to the story. I know Chris has a gift that has blessed each of my children with his stories. I turn to his books to help my kids catch the excitement of reading.
He draws you into his stories

I bought the book 2 years ago from Chris and had him sign it. The book itself is totally spellbinding. I joined his website club. It is exciting to read and watch his work. Tennis Shoes Series, Awesome!
Awesome, must see

I brought this book, and read a couple of chapters. Recently my 2 teenagers picked it up and read it. My daughter felt that she wanted to be the main character in the book. She couldn't wait till the movie can out. Yes, we bought the movie and the whole family enjoyed it so much. We are also Tennis Shoes and the Nephites Fan. We have read all the books, waiting for a new one.
One of the best!

I read the book "Passage to Zarahemla", and loved everything about it! I'm always skeptical about how a movie can even compare..but they did an amazing job. I found myself numberous times thinking 'have i already seen this?!' because the film follows the book so well! It was wonderful

My son and I saw it in the theater. had a hard time waiting for it to come out on DVD. Watched it several times and continue to enjoy it. Highly recommended by our family
Very interesting, unexpected, modern ,& enjoyed by all!!
by Dana - reviewed on September 16, 2008
This movie was very interesting and not what I had expected!!!Yes,I thought that it was going to be good, however; the "modern twist" of it was certainly thought-up by a creative mind. That's the best way I can think to describe it without giving it away! Anyway, this movie was enjoyed by all! My sons & friends liked this movie also, have watched it many times & asked questions! We are the only LDS family in town & have to order movies, etc. like this or travel out of state. We went on a Temple Trip (out of state of course)& at a very small LDS store my sons were told they could help pick a movie from the very few selections. Passage To Zarahemla became our choice! They ALL agreed upon this movie!! I have agreed that I'm glad we got this choice and it has been watched over and over! LDS in the modern world meets up with past in Zarahemla!!!

My husband and I really liked the movie. We have all of Chris Heimerdinger's books and a lot of them on tape. We love to listen to them and were excited that one was being made into a movie. I hope that this is just the beginning!
Great for Sunday viewing

I bought this movie along with other LDS movies to watch on the sabbath other then regular TV. I found it very enjoyable and recommend it for any family.
I watched it tonight with my kids!
by Tamara - reviewed on October 12, 2008
I was glad to see that they offered two viewing modes. One was less intense. My older child watched it saying it was graphic. knowing that, I put it in the less intense mode and at first the younger kids said they didn't want to continue watching but after the opening scene, they really got into it and enjoyed the movie. At the end, they asked if I bought the movie because they really liked it and wanted to watch it again. My youngest is nine and really liked it. Just get them past the first scene.
This is pretty good

There are a lot of movies out there, most of them good, this one was pretty good. I'd watch it again.
What if you could meet them?
by Sarah - reviewed on October 15, 2008
I liked this one, I have always wondered what it would be like to meet one of the neiphites. It also gave a glimpse a moment in the Book of Mormon. Good family movie!
The book is a ton better!

My husband and I love Chris Heimerdinger, but this movie just is not up to the same level as his books. He produced this film, but is just did not work. I have to wonder if this is why he has kind of fallen off the face of the earth. Poor acting, dialogue, effects....didn't work.

This is the most fun and gripping adventure set in the world of the scriptures I have scene yet. Makes a great FHE activity.

We rented this from Blockbuster, and loved it! It's definatly worth the purchase price. It's a good movie for family, kids should be a little older though, not samll children.
by Customer - reviewed on October 12, 2010
I couldn't believe all the "rave" reviews this received. This was my first experience with his films. I appreciate the hard work to produce, acting was good but all in all it was really a waste of the $16 plus postage I spent. . . Sorry!
by Charise - reviewed on November 13, 2008
I enjoyed the book and the movie was not too far from it however, the beginning where they are flashing all kind of scenes (while they are driving) is a little annoying. Other than that great characters and story. They also add a little humor to it which is always fun.
It dose'nt get any better then this! WOW!!
