Prelude to the Restoration: From Apostasy to the Restored Church

As anyone who has ever planted a garden knows, you can’t just go out and start tossing around seeds. The soil must be prepared and the layout of the plants carefully planned out in order to have the greatest success. In a similar manner, as the time drew near for the Lord to restore his gospel to the earth, the way had to be prepared. The 33rd Annual Sidney B. Sperry Symposium at Brigham Young University focuses on that preparation, with essays from a variety of scholars on specific events, personalities, and even inventions that helped pave the way.
