Great for teeangers

A bit childish, but sweet. You watch it, you forget it, but you had a good time, if that's what you're after.
Fun adaptation of the best story ever!

A fun, clean movie to watch. Suitable for teenages and up. We love Jane Austen here, but that seems irrelevant to loving this story. If you know the original, you might pick up more than you would otherwise, but it gives you clear quotes from the original to explain things. The two main actors are GREAT! A quality, less-than-Hollywood-budget, movie. Not an action-packed, special effects kind of movie, but beautifully done in his own way. A lot of fun! And not just for teenage girls. I would give it 4 1/2 if it were an option.
Disappointed

I didn't think it was really "clean"--There was some suggestive dancing and immodesty. Not sure I think that scene in Sacrament Meeting was appropriate to show. I would not recommend for good family entertainment.
AWESOME

I just love this movie and have watched it over and over!! Just great, especially if you know the code to watch the extra mormon bits!!
Awesome!

This movie is awesome. They took the classic story and made it modern, fun and moving! They chose the perfect actors and actresses... GREAT!
just good

Pretty good but it could have been better. There were many hilarious jokes in it but it's not a movie that I would watch over and over.
Lots of humor!!

Good movie but it could be a bit confusing. I had to watch it twice to get all of the jokes and get the characters straight. Tons of laughs though!!!! A must see.
Ya gotta see this!

LOVED IT! You must see this. Stays true to the original story line, great characters, so funny!
Adorable

On the surface, this is a cute, vibrant, colorful romantic comedy. Dig in-depth, and you'll find this film an astonishing accomplishment given the less-than-shoestring (reportedly $400,000) budget. There are movies that literally cost one hundred times more to make that don't look half as good. Ben Carson's outstanding soundtrack only ups the ante. , Extras include a five-minute outtake reel, a nine-minute 'Behind The Scenes' featuring the cast, a fourteen minute 'Behind the Scenes' featuring the crew, the complete 'Classics for Canines' infomercial, pop-up facts that reference Jane Austen's novel, the theatrical trailer, television spots, and audio commentary by producer Jason Faller and director Andrew Black.
Fun!

Although it falls in the current LDS genre, it is a delightful spin on the classic novel. It in no way compares to the A&E Pride and Prejudice but enjoy it for it's own quirkyness. However it is different than the original screen release. All the 'mormon' references are taken out particularly changing 'Ensign' to 'E-Magazine' and leaving out the phrase 'My mission president, President DeBurgh' The one line my husband looked forward to in this 'chick flick' Oh well, enjoy it for the 'cartoonish' cinematography and fun performances.
Good Clean Fun !!

I liked the way the story was adapted to fit the LDS culture and it was done pretty well, we laughed a lot and enjoyed it ! I think "Emma" would make a great LDS adaptation - how many of us in the Church have been part of a match making master plan !!! LOL
A colorful adaptation

I really liked the British mini-series of Pride and Prejudice, but when I saw this modern version with some friends, I thought the main characters were even more likeable! I wanted to add it to my DVD-collection, but since I live in the Netherlands, it took some effort to import it. No regrets, though! But what really surprised me, was when I saw the same movie in my local media-store today! It just goes to show how far a good movie can reach!
Fun, Witty, Charming

The Young Women in my Ward love to get together and watch this movie, they quote it all the time. I too really enjoy watching it. I have probably seen it 10 times and still enjoy it.
Excellent modern adaptation

I LOVE this movie! I've recently watched all of the movie versions of Pride and Prejudice, and this is my favorite! It's obviously not the best from a Jane Austen purest viewpoint, but it's fun, sweet, and they've found a very believable modern setting for the storyline. It is absolutely my new favorite movie!!!
Good movie

Out of all the LDS movies, such as Singles Ward, etc; this one is one of my favorites. I love how they modernized this wonderful classic, and the characters are so witty and fun. It is so wonderful to have a nice, clean, entertaining film out in the world.
Fun entertainment

Girls Night Out
by Maegan - reviewed on October 01, 2008
A fun adaptation of the classic for girls and women of any age. My sisters, mom, and grandmother love to watch this movie with me when we get together. The boys didn't seem to think it was too bad either, though they might not watch it with you over and over.
Great!

So fun!

I love this movie because it is one church movie I can feel comfortable watching with non-member friends because the LDS "jokes" are kept to a minimum and its easy to explain the few LDS things mentioned in it.
Love It!

I love how they took a Jane Austen and mormonized it! It is a great movie!

My family and I love Jane Austen and enjoyed this retelling of her best-known novel. Great for family time or girls' night.
Not bad

Not my favorite re-make of a Jane Austin book, but the Darcy character makes it worth watching.
Pretty funny!

This is a very funny movie, not necessarily one that I would watch over and over because I know how it is going to end. But definetly worth seeing.

I've always been a big Jane Austen fan and I love the way that they modernized it while keeping everything clean since we all know that's a huge problem with today's film industry! I recommend it to anyone that needs a lighthearted 'chick-flick'!
Good actually

I am a diehard P&P fan, and hesitant to buy this modern version. Not only do I love it, it's my 11 year old daughter's new favorite movie! As she's not as enthused about the 1995 version, this allows me my P&P fix. Brilliant use of quotes from the book to introduce scenes.
Wonderful!

I don't think this movie has received as much attention as it merits. As I watched this movie, I realized that in several ways that this is the way more Mormon movies should be. Without drawing attention to it, the movie takes place within a Christian/LDS culture. The people are like various people I've really associated with as part of a Mormon culture and I also feel for them--partly because in some way I can identify with the strengths and weaknesses of various ones of them. The story matters to me (and I believe it's content has fairly wide appeal). And there's also some very funny lines--some of which voice some of my previously-unuttered thoughts.
Perfection

I have seen about 13 different versions of Pride and Prejudice and this is my favorite. My second favorite version is the 12 hour three disk set. I also recommend Bride and Prejudice! its a must buy!
