Prophets, Principles and National Survival (Paperback)
This is a hard-hitting book that is crucial for our times. It is well foot-noted throughout by knowledgeable and distinguished civic and national leaders who corroborate the words of the prophets. It represents the statements of LDS Church leaders on such subjects as: Morality — Spirituality — Religion; Church and State; Free Enterprise and Capitalism; The American Republic; Communism — An International Criminal Conspiracy; The Welfare State — Creeping Socialism; American Foreign Policy; War and Peace; Capital Punishment; Birth Control; and many others. All of the material has appeared in official Church publications, in published books or pamphlets, or in reprints of speeches or articles distributed with the permission of the individual quoted. The Prophets, including members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, have only been quoted after they were ordained to their prophetic office.

Every LDS Family Needs this Book in their Home

I am a History addict and have hundreds of books on the Constitution, American History, great American heroes, politics along with every book written by W. Cleon Skousen. But the most used, notated, and oldest book is Gerald Newquist's "Prophets Principles and National Survival." As a History Major, I judge the accuracy of a book by how well it is documented. PPNS is one of the best documented books on what the Prophets have told us about the Constitution, LDS Doctrine, patriotism, and the principles of good government and how those are woven together. For young LDS in school; secondary and college; it keeps our youth on track about vital moral issues involving government. It is also an excellent reference book for writing talks and speeches. I have been using my copy since I was Baptized in 1968 and is the only reference book that is always within eighteen inches when I am at my computer desk. Every LDS Family interested in freedom, liberty and America's spiritual well being, should have this book in their library.
