Pleasantly surprised
Bertha, UT - July 27, 2011
It looks like I'm a little late, since this movie came out 4 years ago. But before I watched it, I had only heard negative critiques. I am glad to say, overall, I was pleasantly surprised.
What I've noticed in the reviews is that some people say the characters are totally unrealistic, while others say the characters are just like people in real life. So, I think it depends on the viewer's perception and experience.
I'm not sure what people mean when they say "bad acting". I was actually impressed with the lady that plays the non-member mom, because she plays righteous women in every other LDS movie. My favorite was the guy that played the best friend. His character is so...awesome!
This movie isn't my most favorite, but it's certainly not my least favorite. It definitely has its virtues.
