The twenty-third psalm of David from the Old Testament, showing how the Lord shepherds each of us, is one of the best known and most cherished chapters of the Bible. In this beautifully rendered book, author, poet and playwright Carol Lynn Pearson shares the delightful discovery that each line of this beloved psalm is also a perfect guide for how a mother can “assist in shepherding a few dear lambs of the flock.”
Perfect as a gift in times of celebration or times of challenge, The Sweet, Still Waters of Home is sure to become an inspirational classic.

Poetry isn't a genre I'm naturally drawn to, however, I remember reading and loving Carol Lynn Pearson's poetry when I was a teenager, so I decided to give this on a try. I usually hold my feelings in close and it takes a lot to get into my heart--this book had no trouble. The Sweet, Still Waters of Home particularly touched me on many levels. Carol beautifully takes each phrase of the 23rd Psalm and though her poetry helps us to see how this psalm is a pattern for mothering our sheep. Because my one child struggles to find his way, Carol's first poem went right to my heart. I had to read more. Definitely one you don't want to slip through the cracks and go unnoticed.
