Poetry isn't a genre I'm naturally drawn to, however, I remember reading and loving Carol Lynn Pearson's poetry when I was a teenager, so I decided to give this on a try. I usually hold my feelings in close and it takes a lot to get into my heart--this book had no trouble. The Sweet, Still Waters of Home particularly touched me on many levels. Carol beautifully takes each phrase of the 23rd Psalm and though her poetry helps us to see how this psalm is a pattern for mothering our sheep. Because my one child struggles to find his way, Carol's first poem went right to my heart. I had to read more. Definitely one you don't want to slip through the cracks and go unnoticed.
