About the Authors
D. Kelly Ogden, a professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University, earned a master’s degree in Hebrew language and a Ph.D. in Middle East studies. He has written numerous works on the Holy Land, where he and his family lived for fourteen years, and is the author of the popular books Happy Like Jesus and 8 Mighty Changes. The first associate director of the BYU Jerusalem Center, Brother Ogden was president of the Jerusalem Branch of the Church. He helped prepared the Latter-day Saint editions of the scriptures and served as president of the Chile Santiago East Mission and later as president of the Guatemala Missionary Training Center. He serves as a sealer in the Provo Utah Temple. He and his wife, Marcia Hammond Ogden, have four children and seven grandsons.
Andrew C. Skinner, a professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University, was dean of Religious Education and the first executive director of BYU’s Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship. Holding master’s degrees in Hebrew Bible and theology and a Ph.D. in history, he is the author of the acclaimed series Gethsemane, Golgotha, and The Garden Tomb. He has taught at the BYU Jerusalem Center and served as its associate director. Brother Skinner, who was a bishop and a member of the general Sunday School board, serves on the Church Correlation Evaluation Committee. He and his wife, Janet Corbridge Skinner, are the parents of six children and grandparents of four.
