John Bytheway has been presenting assemblies in high schools, junior high schools and even elementary schools for over a decade. He was recently invited to speak at the National Association of Student Councils convention where he received a standing ovation. Finally, this presentation has been recorded on DVD.
John says that "we can't change the trail we have in life, but we can make the hike easier if we change what's in our pack." He also persuasively explains that "it's better to be respected than it is to be popular, because popularity ends on yearbook day, but respect lasts forever."
John also gives a "just say 'no' to drugs" message which is both hilarious and profound while retelling his experience of donating a kidney to his older brother.
Lastly, John gives a plug to the "three R's", reading, writing and arithmetic, and warns against spending too much time with the big "R," the remote!
You'll laugh, you'll learn, and you'll love What's in Your Backpack?

Perfect for workshop!

Thanks for your video "What's in Your Backpack"! We had permission to share it through a school group. 60 people showed up tonight and laughed and hopefully were inspired. I was worried about bringing a Utah type presentation to Michigan but they all loved it and are hoping for more.
I came across this video a few years ago for my family and was excited to share it with our community. My 7 year old sat glued to her seat for the entire hour, I heard teenagers and adults laughing and discussing the principles afterwards. Thank you John for sharing and inspiring us in so many ways!
