Product Description

This little book takes on a big subject—classic barbecue—the manly art of smoked ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and more. So if you want to impress friends and family with some of the best-tasting mead and side dishes on the planet, here's the place to begin! This book is more than a stack of recipes; it's a basic education of a higher way of cooking—training for creating delicious, fall-off-the-bone goodness. There are recipes, but they are only a starting point—you decide where you want to take them from here. So whether you want to explore the cuisine of the Carolinas, try the taste of Texas, sample a bit of Memphis, or take a culinary trip to Kansas City, Where There's Smoke, There's Barbecue is the perfect place to start.

About the Author

QUINNSPARKYORR was raised on a pig farm on the rolling plains of Southern Alberta; he loves to cook and never gets tires of pork. When he was a child, his mother had an open kitchen policy: if you’re hungry, go cook yourself something to eat. When he became a Boy Scout, he spent a lot of time practicing how to cook things over an open fire in the backyard. As a teenager he built his first barbecue by welding together some discarded blades from road graders. The first thing he cooked was steak and beans, and his father said it was the best he had ever eaten.

As an adult, his work as an Emmy Award-winning film producer/director has allowed him to sample and study the cooking techniques of many cultures in more than thirty countries around the world, including a two-year stop in France and Belgium. He loves to create good food and loves to teach others how to do it too. Quinn lives with his wife, family, and four barbecues in Farmington, Utah.

Highly Recommended!

A Must-Have for Manly Men, and a Fun Read, Too! I was thoroughly entertained while being well instructed about how to produce REAL barbeque. Quinn Orr has done much better than a mere recipe book here. This fast-moving mentoring session on paper will make you a barbeque fanatic and an authority at the same time. Highly recommended. I'd have enjoyed this even if I weren't into barbeque techniques.
