Product Description

F. Enzio Busche, emeritus member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, was born in Germany in 1930, three years before Hitler's rise to power. Fifteen years later, when World War II ended, Enzio was a prisoner of war, having been drafted into the German army at age fourteen. The war left Enzio with many questions: Is there a God? What is the purpose of Life? What happens after death? In time, he learned the answers. Yearning for the Living God is a collection of Elder Busche's experiences — both before and after his conversion — and an account of the life-changing awakening that can come to all who search for truth in this world.

Best book I've Read in Years

by Shellie - reviewed on April 09, 2005

Elder Busche was my mission president from 1979 to 1981 and I attended various conferences and meetings where he spoke. It was his unusually humble and moving and even entertaining style of speech that impressed me and as a result I wanted his words to go on all day if possible. As soon as I finished it, I started over reading again to pick up the jewels that got past me the first time around. I wish everyone in the church and most of them out of it would read it. It will change your life for the better, and it will do it immediately.

This was a wonderful read. Since my first purchase I have bought an additional three copies to give to friends and family. I knew little about F. Enzio Busche. Thank you for an insightful personal journey, I was truly uplifted.

Excellent

This biography was honest, intense and showed powerful testimony regarding how the gospel can affect our life. It is a little uncomfortable in the beginning when the author is giving the German civilian perspective of WWII.

Besides the scriptures, there is hardly a book that would uplift and inspire me more than Elder Busche's Yearning for the Living God. This book actually makes you a better person and it's hard to put it down once you start reading it. Without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read.

by William - reviewed on October 14, 2012

We read this book as a family during our vacation to Yellowstone. What a wonder. To read of the history of Elder Busche and his family. To learn of some of the stories of the pioneers of Europe in our day. Inspiring. Thank you for sharing Elder Busche. Dein Weille geschehe. Can't want to get back to the mission field. Vielen Dank.
