DeseretBook.com Auctions / Help / Registering How do I register? In order to register, simply click on the "Account" button, found in the header at the top of the screen, and follow the instructions given there. When do I need to register? Anyone can browse the sight, and view all the available auctions. However, in order to bid on an item or post an auction as a seller, you will need to register. Why do I need to register? Registration serves multiple purposes. As documented in our User Agreement, selling or bidding on an item constitutes an agreement between the high-bidder and seller to not only honor the agreement with one another, but to also honor the agreement with Auctions.DeseretBook.com. in order to insure that this commitment is taken seriously, it is necessary for us to have the registration information for anyone who is potentially able to bid or sell using our site. At the same time, the registration information also allows us to track demographics and statistics relating to our users, so that we can know how to better serve you in the future. Email addresses and personal information will NOT be given out to any outside party(with the obvious exception of auction-related email within the Auction.DeseretBook.com community). If I've already registered for an account at DeseretBook.com, am I registered for Auctions.DeseretBook.com? Almost. Although we would already have most of the information required for registration, you would still need to designate a nickname. As part of our Auctions.DeseretBook.com site, we require users to have a nickname or alias under which they can buy and sell. Although the identity of a user would still be known to us, it would allow them to buy or sell with a certain degree of privacy that is integral to an online auction forum.
