ON WINGS OF FAITH by Frederick W. Babbel (asst. to President Benson when he was U.S. Secretary of Agriculture) is the story of President Benson's (then Elder Benson) mission to save the Saints in Europe from starvation and the other terrible affects of the War. (WWII) This is a tremendous book. The author's simple, moving narrative, taken from his detailed daily journals of those events, depicts not merely the devastation and suffering of war and its aftermath, but more importantly the faith and courage which sustained Church members during the horrors and deprivations of that period. It is a powerful book. This copy is AUTOGRAPHED. It has a gift dedication on the flyleaf but appears never to have been read. A LABOR OF LOVE by Ezra Taft Benson is also the story of the 1946 European Mission to the European Saints. It is the story as seen through President Benson's eyes and is a more humble story. This copy is new!
