Elder Earl C. Tingey, an emeritus member of the Seventy, was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy in 1990 and served for twelve years in the presidency of the Seventy. He is a former president of the Washington DC Temple and also served as president of the Australia Sydney Mission. Elder Tingey graduated from the University of Utah Law School and received his master of corporate law degree from New York University. Prior to his call, he was a corporate attorney for major companies in New York and Utah. He is the author of The Atonement: Fulfilling God’s Great Plan of Happiness. He and his wife, Joanne, are the parents of four children.
