Of all the demands of Christianity, none seems so hard as the requirement that we forgive our enemies and those who despitefully use us. Yet, "to fail to forgive," suggests C. Terry Warner, professor of philosophy at Brigham Young University, "is to deny the atonement of Christ and to place a limit on his capacity to heal us."
Conceding that some offenses are so heinous that they would seem to be unforgivable, Brother Warner explains that "hatred never ceases by hatred but by love alone is healed." He offers in a loving but unflinchingly straightforward way the truth that the Atonement must apply not only to our sins but also to those of our tormentors.
If you are nursing unresolved anger and find it impossible to forgive someone who has inflicted pain on you, the principles discussed in this tape will lead you to the peace and joy you yearn for.

You'll understand the Atonement in a whole new way.
Nancy, UTAH - November 19, 2006
I came upon this talk during a very difficult time in my life. I had suffered injustices that were beyond my ability to understand. I started to listen to Brother Warner's explanation on fogiveness and realized that though I'd been an active member of the church for 20 years, I'd never understood the meaning of the atonement. I'd never even thought about forgiveness as an answer to the suffering I'd experienced all of my life. , I've listened to these words for years and my life has totally changed for the better. It has continued to deepen my understanding of the need for continual forgiveness. , We all deserve to be free from emotional bondage and forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door.
