Music Submission

As of February 1, 2004, our Deseret Book and Shadow Mountain labels are no longer accepting outside music submissions or demos.

For a long time Deseret Book has tried to nurture and encourage songwriters, composers and vocalists by reviewing their submissions and providing feedback. This policy no longer makes financial sense for us, and the time and energy it takes to oversee the music submission process does not yield the results we originally sought by having an open door submission policy. I am sorry to disappoint you with this information.

Distributors will be interested in knowing how your products will be marketed. Please be prepared to present your marketing plans to the distributors. You may want to advertise in newspapers or on radio, schedule concerts or firesides, etc.
