Software Support

The LDS Library software product line was acquired by Deseret Book Company on Sept 3rd, 2009. At this time there are no future plans for development or updates to the software. Any future updates will be posted at this webpage. We will continue to offer technical and customer support on past products as long as it is feasible. The recommended alternative for you to consider is the  www.Gospelink.com service which has almost identical LDS content as the LDS Library 2009 software.

"Setup Error: Failed to load resources from resource file..."
Microsoft .net Framework update causes software launch failure
Issued on July 10th of 2007, this update causes a load error with the 2005 and 2006 Libraries.  The error is caused when the load procedure checks for add-on features.  Currently the only add-on is the PDA Libraries "PDA Partner."  Those with the LDS PDA Library will have this feature in their Tools menu.

LDS Library 2006 users
We have decided to turn off the above referenced feature for the time being so you can continue to receive the important updates from Microsoft and still run the Library software.  We are providing a download of a new "LDSLibapp.exe" file to replace your existing one.  Once this is downloaded and moved into the appropriate folder the Library will function properly.  You will find instruction below for downloading and applying the patch.

LDS PDA Library Users:
If you wish to continue using the PDA Partner function to export titles out of Library for your PDA you should not download this fix.   If you do install the fix your PDA partner function will be disabled.  However, if you click on it you will get an error and you may get kicked out of the program.  Do not use this feature after installing the new file.

2005 v5.2 LDS  Collectors Library users
The 2005 software will not be supported with any further updates.  If you wish to continue using the program and install the Microsoft security update you must upgrade to the 2006 software.  We cannot maintain this level of support for earlier versions. You can uninstall the MS update to remove the error. This is done from Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel. Look for the title:  "Microsoft .net framework 1.1 (hotfix) (kb928366).  After it is removed you must also change the Automatic Update setting in the Control Panel to a manual update setting.

6.1 Update file and patch file
You must have the 2006 LDS Library v6.0 already installed for the updates to work. You can check by opening up the software and going to Help – About LDS Library and then seeing which version number it says. If you have not updated your original 2006 installation (version 6.0.15) to version 6.1.11 then contact support at 801-437-9660. They will verify that you are a registered user or customer and then set up a download for you or mail you out a physical disc.

LDS PDA Library  - Questions and Answers
The PDA Library software was produced in 2006 and was discontinued in late 2007. It is no longer available for purchase and never had any software updates.

The PDA Library Software came with a free version of Isilo version 4.2 for either Palm or Pocket PC format. If you have lost your code, you can contact us and we may be able to find you by your name or email address. If you did not choose to submit that information, we won't be able to find your code nor provide you a new one. If you purchased the software from another user or from a thrift store, then the code has already been used and you will need to purchase a new code from www.isilo.com

Not all new phones or PDA's are compatible with Isilo version 4.2, so you will most likely need to purchase a new version of Isilo that is made specifically for your brand of device. Most can be obtained for just $9.99 at http://www.isilo.com

If you are looking for scriptures for PDA's there are several programs out on the market. If you are looking for LDS e-books by Deseret Book, then you can go to the Kindle Store and type in Deseret Book. For e-pub format you can visit http://deseretbook.com/downloads/info

If you can't get your software to run on your 64 bit computer, then you read the following instructions that deal with Vista and Windows 7 64-bit operating systems here:
http://deseretbook.com/files/Instructions_for_Upgrade_to_Windows_7_64_bit.pdf
