John discusses the difference between being valiant and two other attitudes, both of which are dangerous. He says that some people really want to see how close they can get to the edge without having to see the bishop. Other young people go to seminary, go to church, and keep high standards just because they're 'post to.' They don't really know why. They often don't want to give up some of their favorite vices, either. But the heroes of the Book of Mormon and some young heroes whom John Bytheway has met are truly valiant--following the Lord's commandments because they want to. These are the people who want to do what's right, please the Lord, and return to live with Him.
