The rakish earl falls in love with Heléne de Laurant, the younger, spirited sister of the beauty he is supposed to wed in an arranged marriage designed to unite the two countries. But when Heléne and her family are accused of plotting against the king, Heléne is torn: should she betray the man who could send her family to the gallows, or should she follow her heart and risk her safety to save him?

Loyalty's Web, a great sweet romance
Larry, UTAH - October 15, 2009
Loyalty's Web is a guaranteed page turner. It is a sweet romance between the Lady Helene and the earl of Gunthar cast in medieval time. I grew to love the characters Helene and Gunthar right off. Ms. DiPastena did an excellent job on characterization. Helene and Gunthar are strong, determined characters who would not betray their convictions. The supporting characters and dangerous events of the time period made me wonder throughout if the barriers between Helene and Gunthar could ever be torn down. Treachery, assassination attempts, threats and touching moments kept me turning pages. The sweet romance maintained a thread throughout the castle storming, menacing plots and murderous events. Ms. DiPastena has convincingly shown she is capable of penning a story in this medieval time.
