Arguably one of the greatest defenders of the Christian faith, C. S. Lewis has gained widespread respect and popularity among members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His writings, in fact, strike a chord of familiarity with Christians throughout the world.

From fiction to children's literature to thought-provoking musings on the nature of Christianity, Lewis's works covered the spectrum of the written word. 'Though he was a brilliant scholar, writer, poet, and literary critic, ...all such matters for Lewis seem to have taken a second place behind the central message of Christianity--Jesus Christ and His Atonement,' write authors Andrew C. Skinner and Robert L. Millet. 'Lewis worked tirelessly to help others understand what it means to be a Christian and to live as a Christian. Ultimately, Lewis came to be regarded as everyone's preacher, every thinking Christian's supreme apologist.'

C. S. Lewis--The Man and His Message is a remarkable collection of writings about this great Christian and his life's work. Taken from a conference sponsored by the Colleges of Religious Education and Continuing Education at Brigham Young University, this book contains thoughtful chapters by Elder Neal A. Maxwell, Robert L. Millet, Andrew C. Skinner, Daniel K Judd, John S. Tanner, and Brent L. Top, among others.

Presentations include Elder Maxwell's wonderful address titled 'C. S. Lewis: Insights on Discipleship,' Andrew Skinner's 'Going to Hell C. S. Lewis Style: His Views on Temptation, Sin, and the Devil,' and Robert Millet's 'C. S. Lewis on the Transformation of Human Nature.'

Certainly, readers will be enlightened by the principles C. S. Lewis practiced and advocated as they read about his life, his philosophies, and his life's work as a believer and defender of Christianity.

This is an amazing collection of Essays from the C.S. Lewis symposium. The lecturers analyze the amazing spiritual insights of this brilliant man and combine them with scriptures and words of the prophets that further develop his ideas. These essays have had a profound effect on helping me understand my relationship with deity. Anyone who has felt the power of Lewis' other writings will love this volume.
