Inspiring. Children of the Promise brings tears, laughter, and a better understanding of the Church during WWII. In this volume several issues are resolved that are cliff hangers in other volumes. One minute you are excited to see something good happen and then next the you are crying with them for their trials. This is a must read series if you like the Work and Glory, you will LOVE Children of the Promise series.\n\t\t
\n\t\t
\n\t\t \n \n \n \n \n \n\t\t

\n\t\tA good read, April 01, 2011
\n\t\tBy Customer, UT

\n\t\tThis book is about a family that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, living at the time of World War II. It is filled with struggles of the family members, such as the father dealing with the change of his wife going to work because their sons are off at war, the restless teenage daughter who is getting in to trouble with boys, and each of the sons going to war and facing the travesties of war such as: the death of loved ones, imprisonment by the enemy, and guilt of taking another persons life. As it says in the book speaking about the soldiers at the end of the war, but is even applicable to the family, \u201cThey would deal with their wounds and emotional scars for the rest of their lives.\u201c \n\nThe book is very well written and it keeps you captivated and on the edge of your seat through the whole thing. Another great thing is the amount of history that the writer includes in the book. Every chapter is filled with events and locations of real historical events. The book really has the ability to grab you and pull you into the World War II time era.\n\nI would say that the real value of this book comes in seeing the family members overcome such amazing obstacles. I feel that anyone could read this book and finish it with a greater appreciation for their family and those that go to war to defend the freedom of this nation. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves history, suspense, and a great story plot. \n\n\t\t
\n\t\t
\n\t\t \n \n \n \n \n \n\t\t

\n\t\tA Great Read, April 01, 2011
\n\t\tBy Josiah, UT

\n\t\tThis book is about a family that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, living at the time of World War II.
