Event recap:
What an event! In the many years we’ve been doing TOFW, we have never experienced anything quite like our TWO KICK-OFF EVENTS in Ogden this past weekend. And it’s not because it was our biggest crowd or our most faraway place. And it’s not because any other city hasn’t been equally as wonderful. There was just something about a new year, a new theme and a new city that really got us excited for what is to come!
It was a great way to begin our 2009 TOUR.
Our theme for the year, Sweet Assurance, had its debut release. Time Out was certain this would be an inspirational theme for 2009. But it wasn’t until attendees came ready to learn and presenters began to discuss the sweet assurances we have through our knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ that something magical happened. In a world of uncertainty and unrest, we can take comfort in “the certainty that comes when you know life’s truths.” It’s important to be reminded of this because it’s sometimes easy to forget.
We can’t even WAIT to see how the rest of the 2009 tour will play out.
The Time Out for Women presenter team welcomed four new faces in Ogden. Wendy Ulrich, author of Forgiving Ourselves, Emily Freeman, author of Woman at the Well and 21 Days Closer to Christ, DeAnne Flynn, author of The Time-Starved Family, and Kris Belcher, author of Hard Times and Holy Places. They will be a great addition to our team.
Your experiences:
I actually attended both events in Ogden. I LOVE TOFW! It truely is a "time out". I have been to 7 events. I have yet to be disappointed. The entire team is incredible. Laurel you are a true delight. The presenters are the best. I especially am touched by the music. Love Kenneth & Hillary! My kids are teenagers now, & I find that I have a little more free time. I can't think of anything better to do for me or my family than attend these events! In fact my friend & I have started to pick events in places that we would like to travel to. San Diego was awesome! :)

This was my first "Time Out for Women". I attended with my oldest daughter and her oldest daughter, which was a neat experience. I drove to Ogden from Idaho during a weekend when the weather was not too favorable, but it was worth it considering the information I received and the feeling I had and the memories I gained that will last a long time. Thank you for the experience!
Linda
What a wonderful, spiritual experience.
There were times I laughed and times I cried. It was a great time to "sharpen my saw" after a busy holiday season and a very busy work time.
Thank you! I look forward to attending next year.

This was my first experience at TOFW-and I loved it!! When I was in college I worked with Youth & Family Programs that were held on campus at BYU. This was my time to get to experience a conference as a participant instead of a coordinator. It was wonderful!! The talks were great, and geared perfectly to the needs of women. I also had my neighbor there who told me that she felt every speaker was speaking right to her. What an amazing experience!

Keeping a sense of humor has health benefits, but it also blesses us spiritually. Humor helps us keep perspective, enrich relationships, and deal with trials and challenges. And anyone can have a sense of humor...you don't have to be born with it. You can train your mind to recognize and appreciate appropriate humor. So come relax, enjoy, and laugh out loud (a lot) with one of our favorite new TOFW couples. (Sometimes Brad doesn't even have to say anything. His laugh alone is funny!)
National bestselling author, including The Great and Terrible series; world-record-setting pilot; president and CEO of The Shipley Group
For some this is a time of darkness and discouragement. For others it is a time of excitement and peace. There is no doubt that we are living in the Last Days. But God is intensely interested in our time and has shown that He loves and defends His people. This just might be the best time to be alive-and it is not in spite of the growing darkness in the world, but maybe because of it, that we will feel the sweet assurance that God is at the helm. His plan will not fail...and neither will we.
Songwriter, entertainer, creator of more than 30 albums and soundtracks, including 25, The Forgotten Carols and his latest, Mission To Be Happy
Some famous entertainers are known by one name or one song. Michael McLean isn't just "some famous entertainer." He's known for dozens of songs. Michael is a master songwriter whom we've accused of reading women's journals ... his songs say, sometimes almost perfectly, what all of us have felt. Chances are he's written one for you.

There's just something about his voice. We love it! And we also love and appreciate his rock-solid testimony of and passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ. He's a complete family guy but loves being with TOFW and we love having his spirit and heart with us.

Writer; author, 21 Days Closer to Christ, The Promise of Enough, and Keepers of What Matters Most
It sounds like a great bumper sticker, doesn’t it? Did you know it’s actually a scripture in the New Testament? Based on this invitation from Peter (nearly 2,000 years ago), Emily Freeman shares a simple, but tried and true, recipe for living a more hopeful life.
Ph.D., University of Colorado; former institute instructor; recipient, Orton Literary Award; author, House of Glory, When Your Prayers Seem Unanswered, and What the Scriptures Teach Us about Raising a Child
Though some may believe hope is a gift we either have or don’t have, Michael believes hope is something we create consciously. And he has the scripture stories to back that up. You’ll discover that hope becomes the natural emotional consequence of living key gospel principles.
