Your experiences:
Had such a wonderful time both Fri. evening and Saturday. Excellent speakers!! I absolutely and totally enjoyed Michael McLean and sweet Cherie Call. What inspirations and oozing talent! I am sharing my notes with our Young Women when I teach next Sunday. Thank you everyone for ALL the work and time you devote to putting these events together to lift us up and strengthen us.

TOFW was an awesome, and very uplifting experience. I so enjoyed the music and presenters. I had the opportunity to attend with my mother, and both of my daughters as well as many friends from the ward, and it truly was an uplifting weekend that will continue to inspire and encourage as wonderfully challenging gift that we call life goes on..... We all thought it would be great if there were a Time OUt for Couples......... Many, Many thanks to all of those who made this event possible!!

I had such a wonderful time at TOFW. There were no specific moments but just a wonderful weekend of being uplifted by all the presenters. I guess my favorite had to be seeing Michael McLean and shaking his hand. Our family has loved him for years since we first heard Forgotten Carols so that was a special treat for me. And it was fun introducing him to others who didn't really appreciate all he has given us. As I sat and listened to the speakers about family and marriage I was wishing my daughters were there with me especially since some are going through some really rough times right now. I have ordered the presentations on your DVD to share with them. Thank you so much for the opportunity we had here in the "mission field" to enjoy some of the Lord's best people who know Him and love Him and want to share that with us. I look forward to the next time I can come to another Time Out in Minneapolis or even in Duluth, Minnesota. Oh, I really came to love and appreciate Cherie Call and her wonderful talent as well. Thank you Cherie, Michael, Mary Ellen, Brad and Deb, Deanne, Kim, and Brent. You are all the best!!!

This was my second tofw--went to Mpls two years ago also. I enjoyed it just as much this time. Only thing I missed was the kleenix pack that we got last time!! Not everyone was as prepared as I always am since I have a high water table. I enjoyed every speaker and the music was wonderful. Thank you for this opportunity to be among so many wonderful sisters.
Michael
Friday
Songwriter, entertainer, creator of more than 30 albums and soundtracks, including 25, The Forgotten Carols and his latest, Mission To Be Happy
Some famous entertainers are known by one name or one song. But Michael McLean is known for literally dozens of songs. And his songs say, sometimes almost perfectly, what all of us have felt. Because of that, chances are he’s written one just for you.
Brad: Ph.D., University of Wyoming; associate professor at BYU; author, Growing Up and Stay in the Lifeboat; Debi: registered nurse; presided together over the Chile Santiago East Mission from 2003-2006
Keeping a sense of humor has health benefits, but it also blesses us spiritually. Humor helps us keep perspective, enrich relationships, and deal with trials and challenges. And anyone can have a sense of humor...you don't have to be born with it. You can train your mind to recognize and appreciate appropriate humor. So come relax, enjoy, and laugh out loud (a lot) with one of our favorite new TOFW couples. (Sometimes Brad doesn't even have to say anything. His laugh alone is funny!)
Saturday
Singer, songwriter, and multiple time Pearl Award Winner; albums include He Gives Flowers to Everyone and Beneath These Stars
Even her other music friends agree...no one writes a lyric like Cherie Call. She has a way of talking about things in song that we all want to talk about but can't find the words for. Sharing messages important to all women, Cherie (now mother of 2!) has quickly become a TOFW favorite!
Former director of training, Missionary Training Center; former faculty, College of Nursing, BYU; author of Peculiar In a Good Way and MEE Speaks: But Does She Have Anything to Say?
We know some of you know that song—you know, the one about the ant? Really? You don’t? Well, then, you are in for a treat. MEE has been learning about resilience: how to get it, how to keep it, and what to do with it. And she’s sharing life lessons from her own personal journey.
Ph.D., professor and former associate dean of Religious Education, BYU; president, Illinois Peoria Mission from 2004-2007; author, When You Can’t Do It Alone
When Brent Top was asked to serve as a mission president, he thought he knew what it meant to rely on the Lord. But it wasn't until a personal crisis of confidence that he learned important lessons about what it really means to "focus on Christ" and allow Him to lift and strengthen us. Brent shares key spiritual skills that, when put into practice daily, will sustain you during good times and keep you from sinking during the bad.
B.A., Broadcast Journalism, BYU; award-winning journalist; mother of seven; author, The Time-Starved Family
Leave your sewing tools at home. This mother of seven is not talking about those kinds of patterns. Are you hoping to raise good kids? While there might be headaches and heartaches along the way, with the Lord’s patterns as our foundation, that hope can turn into reality.
Marriage and family counselor; nationally recognized speaker and trainer; author, Happily Forever After and If God Loves Me, Why This?
Do you remember the first time you rode a bike without training wheels? How did it go? Did you fall once or twice? Did you have a few bruises to show it? Every life phase has a period of "training time" before we should expect to ride without falling. God, as the ultimate parent, seems to be more patient with our "training time" than we are. Kim teaches four truths that will help you put the falls and the bruises of life in a little better perspective as you see God's love in your experiences.
