Saw the interviews on the Oprah special tonight - she's suggesting it as a good thanksgiving outing.

I wonder who of you will see it - and probably before me - and what you will think of it.

I'm excited at the thought of sharing some of our amazing country, and the history, be it a mix of +ive and -ive.

I've already told my husband that I want to celebrate my birthday (Nov 28) by seeing this movie.

This year Thanksgiving dinner is at my brothers home so last night my hubby and I went and saw "Austrialia"

I LOVED this movie. I am embarrassed to admit that I didn't know the history of your country until this movie or at least I wasn't remembering well from history.

What amazing scenery and the movie was so thought provoking. I want to go to Australia now for sure someday.

The little boy in this movie stoled the show. He was amazing and it was interesting to me when I learned that he had never acted before and they found him in the middle of nowhere.

. . . . and nowhere has "nowhere" like Australia does : )

I wonder if seeing this might help people from some nations understand why Australia has limited immigration policies - we are BIG, but the land is not always bountiful!

I do so love my sunburnt country!

My VT comp and I took a couple of sisters to see for our Christmas "visit". I loved it, but the Chinese sisters found it a bit hard - the language is very much of the 1940's, and the movie is quite accurate to my knowledge of the places and people of the time.

Enjoy : )

i loved the movie - very much the epic type because when you think it could be over it goes on - was worried because of the bad reviews but i thought it was great - just dont drink alot before you go so you wont have to get up and miss any of it!! and i agree that the little boy was wonderful!

I also thought at a couple of points that it was about to end - I think they might have been able to make a movie and then a sequel rather than an epic - but I really didn't notice the time pass and it felt shorter than it was.

I can understand the poor reviews in the US because I personally enjoy a lot of the American movies and this is quite different. Anyone expecting the usual action style or humour will be surprised, but it is great in a different way.

I also wonder if LDS might enjoy it more than the critics because we look to the hearts of the people and the contributions made to the world, and this has a depth greater than shallow entertainment.
