wondergirl, I LOVE your list. AWESOME.

I've had my nephew staying this week and we've played a lot of games. He is the person in the family who likes games as much as me. Yesterday we played Monopoly and he cleaned my clock. His name is Ty, so I am now telling everyone it's short for tycoon!

This week we've got our other vehicle back from the shop. So....

Tuesday....took the girls to one of our city's wading pools.

Wednesday....took the girls to a free movie, saw The Tale of Despereaux.

Today......picking up my little one's fave community center teacher (she had a stroke a few months back and is not up to driving on her own yet though she's made great improvements in her recovery) and we are having lunch at Chick-Fil-A and Miss J and I will visit while the girls hang out in the play structure after eating.

Friday....taking the girls to the library

At the start of each summer growing up we'd make a huge list as a family of things we wanted to do and a list of places we wanted to go.
I still make a list so when I'm bored I can take a look at it and find a random thing to do.
Here's this years list: http://bit.ly/IuCFy
I'd love to see other peoples lists. :)

Happy summer!

Huri...you better post that cookie recipe!

We made miniature "pigs in a blanket" on Friday. I got the idea from my latest issue of the Kraft cooking magazine, "Food and Family". My 8 year old had fun making (and eating) them. Here's a link to the recipe:
http://tinyurl.com/nmmdy9

I decided we ARE going to try Letterboxing. And trying to wedge in a few things here in AZ that we want to do before we move.

Also, I just picked up a special issue of a Taste of Home Magazine that is called "Fun Food" and it's all recipes for cooking with kids. Some fun things in there if you can snag a copy.

My biggest issue (well, one of my biggest issues...) is that I have a 14 year old and an 8 year old (and sometimes the 21 yr old too) to try and keep happy, busy and occupied...and it ain't easy!

I'm sorry I missed making cookies on Friday. :( Making cookies is on my agenda...for sometime soon...:)

My second job has ended, and my first job decreased by salary by 10%, I have been working so much in the last years, that I'm not sure what else I have accomplished. For the time being I have increased my hours at the first job....and told my 3 children still at home, that I expect them to be working. The youngest has found a part time job at Mc Donalds, and the 26 year old is actually goin out on interviews. I'm not sure how long I will be able to financially do this, but have enjoyed a few more days off during the rainy month of June in N Nevada.

Well, it called for 1 cup of butter and I doubled the recipe. And I used butter.

So no, no there are no calories in them.

I am just hoping to survive the summer with my sanity still somewhat intact. Things are not looking good, so far lol.

Here are some fun ideas I found:

http://tinyurl.com/ltrjoz

(The post is on June 1st, 2009 if the link just goes to the current page).
There is also a fun post just before this one with date night ideas that could be adapted for a summer fun kind of thing with kids.

I also think "Letterboxing" sounds fun, and want to try it with my kids sometime. You can read about it here:

And here is a link for finding Letterboxing Clues in your area. (North America map)
