It was fantastic to be with my sisters. It reminded me that no matter what stage we're in in life, we CAN all relate to each other, and we need eachother. I loved it!

I attended both the Friday evening and Saturday sessions. I love TOFW! I look forward to it so very much. It feeds my soul and inspires me and fills me with the Holy Spirit. I love the musical parts and the talks. Both fill needs of mine. I wish I could attend every 6 months! It gives me access to books and CDs and home decorations. Stuff that I can see and touch and peruse. I can't tell you how important this program is to me.

I wish I could personally thank all the people involved in putting this together. It was 24 of the most amazing hours for me personally. In the midst of the Saturday afternoon session, I received a call from a family member. My brother was in the hospital and they thought he was having a heart attack. By Sunday he was having emergency gallbladder surgery. I found out another brother is having a problem with his heart and his cancer scare was just that, just a scare. Being in the midst of all those wonderful women, none of whom are women I knew, I felt a sense of peace and knew the Lord was blessing me. This topic of hope is one that has been difficult for me. I have not been a member for long (less than 5 years) and learning to have hope has been difficult. However, that weekend, in that room filled with wonderful women, hearing some wonderful music , being surrounded by the Spirit in such a powerful way, listening to talks that so often seemed written and spoken just for me, hope has been rekindled - for my own life, for the healing of my family, hope in the knowledge of the love of our Savior and Father in Heaven. I wish I could hug and thank every person involved in making that weekend happen. Every person who performed or talked. Every person behind the scenes who may or may not know they are profoundly effecting lives. They did mine. Thank you.

First time at TOFW and it was a wonderful experience. The Presenters were wonderful: the music was outstanding; and I left feeling an abundance of hope. Thanks so much.

It’s a Creation, Not a Gift
Though some may believe hope is a gift we either have or don’t have, Michael believes hope is something we create consciously. And he has the scripture stories to back that up. You’ll discover that hope becomes the natural emotional consequence of living key gospel principles.
Survivor of war-torn Sierra Leone, humanitarian beneficiary; LDS convert and public speaker; attended LDS Business College
Raised in war-torn Sierra Leone, Mariama Kallon saw many things as a young girl that might fill a person with fear and hatred. Soon after witnessing the violent murders of parents and siblings and spending her youth fleeing from rebels, she was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ and found hope in God and peace in a knowledge of eternal families. She was given a humanitarian kit by the Church, which became a treasured symbol of hope that she used to bless the lives of many as they again fled for their lives. After returning to her town, she was called on a mission to the Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission, and wept in gratitude to the Lord as she visited the place where her precious humanitarian kit was made. Today Mariama stands as an example of the divine purposes of humanitarian work and tells her story to numerous audiences, urging them to participate in this work.

Your Powerful Choice
All of us have “strengthening opportunities” given to us: moments when we can choose to be strong, positive, and hopeful—or not. And that choice impacts our ability to endure and to cope. There is power in proactively choosing a positive attitude no matter what comes our way.
