Due to the Worldwide Leadership Broadcast Training scheduled for Saturday, November 13th, we have rescheduled the TIME OUT FOR WOMEN event in Salt Lake City, UT. The new date for the TOFW event is November 19-20, 2010.
What a beautiful drink of living water! What encouraging messages for all of us. It is wonderful to know our experiences aren't rare. One of the stories I really enjoyed was about the harried mother who decided to get her unhappy children lunch after being in the car for quite a while. She pulled up to the drive up window and ordered the children some food. Quietly the person on the other side of the window asked if she realized she was at the bank. It reminded me of our daughter who has six boys and one girl on a stressful busy day going to the post office and blowing the postman a kiss as she left. She was so embarrassed she had to call me immediately asking if she dare go to the post office ever again. You did a wonderful job of the event! Thank you!

This was a most remarkable event for me. I attended with my daughter-in-law and we left feeling filled and sustained. Favorites: Heidi Swinton: Hearing the stories of how President Monson puts people first make me reflect upon a low point in my life where I had reached out and he responded with a personal visit--totally unexpected, but it felt like the Savior Himself had visited. Brad Wilcox: Broadened my understanding of the Atonement and my responsibility to accept the grace. Virginia Pierce: Described my own experience with the passing of my sweet mother-in-law a few months ago. What a blessing. Amanda Dickson: Sometimes the worst that can happen is the best thing ever! What a remarkable story. I loved that we made 720 Hygiene kits. Thank you for all the presenters and all the effort such an event required.

Had such a great weekend. When my mom, sister and I got back to our hotel room and were talking we could not even come up with what talk was our favorite we just loved all of them. The presenters were so great not only with their talks, but by taking the time to talk to us they were all so nice. I love every minute of this event and we are planning on coming every year. This year was great, but are already looking forward to next year. Also we would love to thank all involved in planning and helping make it such a great event we really appreciate it.

Time Out for Women is the event I have look forward to for years. I have attended TOFW 5 times and this year by far was my favorite. I think it could possibly be because of where I am in life right now. A homeschooling mother of 4 girls ages 8,5,4,1. I have felt growing pains in so many ways recently. TOFW SLC had just exactly what I needed to hear. Words of Hope, reminders of not comparing myself to others, tips on how to adapt to change, moments of laughter and many moments where I felt the spirit testify to me. I love TOFW and am so grateful for the hard work so many put into making this event a success. I also love the bookstore provided on site, the cute bags to remind us of the amazing event and the opportunity to help put together Hope Kits for women in need. To say I feel like I can tackle anything right now is an understatement. Thank you TOFW team! See you in 2011!

A Successful Life
We all want to succeed. Does it sound like something out of reach for you? Can we measure success and are there appropriate markers or comparisions we can make? When we are able to see our lives in context of the mission we were meant to live, individually, then we can recognize and feel success with every step of progression—no matter how slow or how small.

Looking Out for the One
Anyone who knows President Monson knows his particular gift of reaching out to “the one.” Sharing little-known experiences from the life of the prophet and her own experience studying that life as his biographer, Heidi offers a powerful message about the importance of looking out for the one.

By Grace We Are Saved
"For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do," 2 Nephi 25:23, is one of the most widely quoted scriptures in the Church, yet it may also be one of the least understood. The truth is that we are saved by grace as we recognize our complete dependence on Jesus Christ.

It sounds like a great bumper sticker, doesn’t it? Did you know it’s actually a scripture in the New Testament? Based on this invitation from Peter (nearly 2,000 years ago), Emily Freeman shares a simple, but tried and true, recipe for living a more hopeful life.
Survivor of war-torn Sierra Leone, humanitarian beneficiary; LDS convert and public speaker; attended LDS Business College
Raised in war-torn Sierra Leone, Mariama Kallon saw many things as a young girl that might fill a person with fear and hatred. Soon after witnessing the violent murders of parents and siblings and spending her youth fleeing from rebels, she was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ and found hope in God and peace in a knowledge of eternal families. She was given a humanitarian kit by the Church, which became a treasured symbol of hope that she used to bless the lives of many as they again fled for their lives. After returning to her town, she was called on a mission to the Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission, and wept in gratitude to the Lord as she visited the place where her precious humanitarian kit was made. Today Mariama stands as an example of the divine purposes of humanitarian work and tells her story to numerous audiences, urging them to participate in this work.
