Your experiences:

I really enjoyed my TOFW experience and was certainly lifted and edified. I hope that you'll consider doing a Time Out for Couples in the Wasatch Front area. As I was listening to Brent Top, I thought of how much my husband would enjoy listening to him. As I scribbled notes furiously during Jill Manning's presentation, I thought of how much our families need the message that she was sharing with us and how appropriate she would be as a presenter for a couples conference. I wish we could have her come speak to our ward/stake. Thank you!
—Cortney

It was my first Time out, but won't be my last. Every presenter, gave me something that I needed. I KNOW that I am a special daughter of Heavenly Father, and that he has and will always have open arms, and over flowing love for not only me but the rest of his children. What a great experience. Thank you the staff of TOFW for all your hours of hard work, to give not only me but all those who attended a wonderful and joyful weekend.
—Patricia

FRIDAYPROGRAM

Michael McLean

Songwriter, entertainer, creator of more than thirty albums and soundtracks, including 25; The Forgotten Carols; and his latest, Mission to Be Happy

Some famous entertainers are known by one name or one song. But Michael McLean is known for literally dozens of songs. And his songs say, sometimes almost perfectly, what all of us have felt. Because of that, chances are he’s written one just for you.

Chieko Okazaki

Former counselor in the general Relief Society presidency; author, Lighten Up and Being Enough

Mark Mabry

Come unto Him

What happens when you try to re-create the scene of the Savior appearing to the people in the Americas? As Mark spent the last year working on his latest photography project, what he saw and felt changed his life. We believe his message about this experience will help change yours.

SATURDAYPROGRAM

Cherie Call

Singer, songwriter, and multiple time Pearl Award Winner; albums include He Gives Flowers to Everyone and Beneath These Stars

Musical Presentation

Even her other music friends agree...no one writes a lyric like Cherie Call. She has a way of talking about things in song that we all want to talk about but can't find the words for. Sharing messages important to all women, Cherie (now mother of 2!) has quickly become a TOFW favorite!

Mary Ellen Edmunds

Former director of training, Missionary Training Center; former faculty, College of Nursing, BYU; author, Peculiar—in a Good Way and MEE Speaks: But Does She Have Anything to Say?

Moving a Rubber Tree Plant
We know some of you know that song—you know, the one about the ant? Really? You don’t? Well, then, you are in for a treat. MEE has been learning about resilience: how to get it, how to keep it, and what to do with it. And she’s sharing life lessons from her own personal journey.

Emily Watts

Senior editor, Deseret Book Company; mother of five; author, Confessions of an Unbalanced Woman and I Hate It When Exercise Is the Answer

Motherhope
Do you ever have moments when you think that the entrance to motherhood ought to have a sign proclaiming, “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here”? With her trademark combination of stories and insights, Emily Watts shows just how much there is for moms to hope for (sign not included).

Brent L. Top

Ph.D., professor and former associate dean of Religious Education, BYU; president, Illinois Peoria Mission from 2004-2007; author, When You Can’t Do It Alone

Skills from the Scriptures (for Good Times & Bad)
When Brent Top was asked to serve as a mission president, he thought he knew what it meant to rely on the Lord. But it wasn't until a personal crisis of confidence that he learned important lessons about what it really means to "focus on Christ" and allow Him to lift and strengthen us. Brent shares key spiritual skills that, when put into practice daily, will sustain you during good times and keep you from sinking during the bad.

Jill Manning

Ph.D.; licensed marriage and family therapist; author, What’s the Big Deal about Pornography?: A Guide for the Internet Generation; Let’s Talk about the Elephant in the Room: How LDS Women Can Protect Families from Pornography (CD)

The Uncensored Truth About Pornography
Because women are impacted by pornography in unique and profound ways, we play an indispensable role in the fight against it. Although the statistics are daunting, we know that pornography cannot win, in light of Who and what is on our side.
