Joseph Smith said that God's plan of salvation is "one of heaven's best gifts to mankind." But how many of us understand the depth and breadth of it completely? And how many of us feel comfortable teaching those eternal truths and doctrines to our families or our classes?
Authors and gospel teachers John Hilton III and Anthony Sweat have teamed up again to lead teenagers step-by-step through the entire plan of salvation—from our premortal existence to the Final Judgment and our inheritance of glory—by using easy-to-understand language, timely examples, scriptural references, and enlightening quotes from our latter-day prophets and apostles.
In addition to being a book that teens can pick up and read, each chapter contains an easy-to-follow and easy-to-adapt lesson plan that can assist parents and others in teaching youth the truths of the plan of salvation. Chapter also include many frequently asked questions about such topics as:
The Big Picture provides a clear and concise overview of what has been called the great plan of happiness, of redemption, of mercy—God's plan of salvation.
This is an absolutely amazing book! We have been using it in our FHE, and it is a great companion to the youth curriculum this year. These authors have put some serious thought into how to better teach our children the Plan of Salvation.... step by step. I love it! An absolute "must have" for your gospel library.
I haven't had this book for very long and I've already used some of the chapters in FHE and my kids love them. We didn't do so well at the "no anger challenge" or the "no excuses challenge" but we will try again soon! If you have kids and weekly FHE, you won't go wrong with this book.
I read this on a plane trip this last weekend. It is well done. I loved how the authors gave real answers to important questions. A lot of great quotes here. Hats off to both of the authors for a wonderful book.
