I loved the idea of having a place to write down my thoughts, quotes, and anything else that I felt were important to me. The sad thing that I wished it had was larger print sizes so that it would make it easier to read.
I agree with several of the other comments. I would greatly appreciate it if one would be published in bigger print and wider margins on each side. This is a journal and study of the Book of Mormon - could one be made 8 1/2 x 11 for the senior set of people?
This is an answer to my infrequent prayers. ;) I hope there is a Doctrine and Covenants and Bible version as well. I love the thickness of the paper and the extra pages for notes in the back of the book. The price can’t be beat! I’m not afraid to mark it up, knowing that I can replace it when it starts looking haggard. The print is not too small, for those complaining- go to the dolllar tree and grab some readers.
I've long wished for a journal edition, like the ones I've seen for Bibles, and I was so excited when I saw mention of this on IG! I like the art space, and wish there were lines down at least half the page, since I don't write straight without them. =) Nevertheless, this is an affordable edition in the paperback that I can buy every couple of years as I study it continuously. I, too, would like the full name on the cover of the book. Thanks for making this edition, please keep publishing it!
I am wondering why this showed up in my ebook search, when it does not have an ebook edition.
I had recently started doing Bible Journaling (seriously -- check out pinterest for fun ideas) and it really has helped me slow down and be thoughtful about passages I'm reading. I was so excited when I saw this edition and already started finding the scriptures that are meaningful to me. I put notes and quotes and in the wide margins. I use a variety of colored pencils and ultra fine tip markers (micron is a good brand that doesn't bleed) to doodle, highlight, and write notes. This is helping me spend time with the Book of Mormon and not just "read the scriptures."
I originally preordered the gray hardback but after seeing how beautiful the floral is, I exchanged it. I love this so much, it’s really going to enrich my scripture study and with the Prophet’s invitation to read the Book of Mormon before the end of the year, this could not have come out at a better time!
I’m excited to use this, but in light of President Nelson’s recent counsel, I am disappointed that the title has been shortened and no longer includes “Another Testament of Jesus Christ,” an oversight I hope is corrected in future editions.
The print is about the size of the regular scriptures. The paper is thick enough that color pencil and my colored Bic Cristal (ultra fine) pens don’t bleed through; although, I can see a bit of an indentation if I press too hard.
It’s also very heavy. It might be interesting to have an edition without the index since that can be accessed electronically. It would make the book more portable, though some people may want to take notes in those pages as well.
I assume the print was too small based on reading the reviews, however comparing my triple and this book, the font size is very similar or even exact. I'd like to say its the exact font size compare to the regular (standard) scriptures. The margins is almost 2 inches of space to write notes! Im a sucker for efficient scripture studying. Great product. ♡
This is such a great idea. I always like to write my thoughts and my scriptures and there’s never enough room. I got the hardbound copy and have been totally satisfied.
I love the layout etc. The print is too small for my age. I might suggest a printing of it, using maybe a little larger print, and putting it in the physical size of the large print Book of Mormon and Bible. This would give more margin space for those of us who may have seeing problems and thus also have to write larger too. I understand that with 800+ pages this would be a pretty hefty book. That's what I have a table for. There would be more expense too, however I am (And possibly others.) willing to invest in one.
I’m so excited that I found this! I’m always trying to write in the margins of my Book of Mormon and never have enough room! Now I will have plenty of room to write! 😍 #lfthx
I love the idea. I am anxious to use the wide margins to take notes.
My daughter and I are getting ready to work on our honor bees together. On Facebook someone had a download for a Journaling Book of Mormon but it would have been pretty expensive to print and get it bound. A couple of weeks later I receive my Deseret book catalog and was super excited to see these Book of Mormon journaling Editions for a very reasonable price so I ordered one for me and one for my daughter. We are both looking foreword to using these to study the Book of Mormon and having spiritual experiences together while doing it. Thank you Deseret Boik!
I love this new Book of Mormon journal. I spent 3 hours last night just studying and looking up the scriptures on the first 3 paragraphs of the introduction page. The desire for learning has been so strong and finding all the scriptures that go along with the information on that has been such an uplifting and spiritual experience. I am looking forward to taking each verse and studying and learning by the spirit. When the desire to hunger and thirst after righteousness the spirit will guide us in way We need to go. Thank you
When I joined the Church in 1964, there was a missionary edition of the Bible with lined pages between the Old and New Testament. I was disappointed when they stopped publishing that edition. I wish there were more lined pages with this edition. I love the wide margins and wish this had been available last year when I took Pathway and studied the Book of Mormon. It would have been a great aide in my study experience. I intend to get my materials from Pathway last year and use them as I start my new study of the Book of Mormon with this journal edition. Thank you.
I absolutely love this book! The quality is great and is very affordable. I would choose this journaling BOM over the expensive Line Upon Line Journaling BOM any day!
I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I'm really enjoying the extra writing space and the feel of this. I'm reading the Book of Mormon in a 3 month span, and I don't put pressure on myself to even write notes, but when I do have a thought or some inspiration, I love the space in the margins and even at the top to be able to write it down. I use it as a journal more than I thought I would even though i'm reading more swiftly. My kids are telling me they would like a version like this, in fact my son who is a seminary student was hoping there was one for the Doctrine and Covenants since that is what they are studying this year.
Having space to add notes to your study of the Book Of Mormon is. Great idea and the price is very reasonabl. I haven't had time to use it yet, but am excited to do so. My only criticism is that the print is very small for us mature readers. Also the space allowed for annotating is on the left side, which will make cross referencing verses in the right column will be more difficult do. If the book were a little wider and the text centered so there were margins on both sides, it would be easy to make notes on any verse. However, I am pleased with this effort to make scripture study much more effective.
I think having a journal as part of the Book of Mormon without changing the Book of Mormon is a wonderful idea. It gives us a chance to make important notes and save important thoughts and ideas concerning the Book of Mormon at the time they arrive without having to use extra paper that might get lost or accidently damaged. It used to be that when we wanted to jot down a note about what we read, we would put a small note page in the book where the thought was, and after a while the Book of Mormon was no longer looking neat. I don't like to carry around a book that is bulging with lots of little notes. The Book of Mormon Journal Edition is really a good iea, and worth every penny we spend on it.
