I like this book because it doesn't make me feel guilty about what I am not doing or haven't done. It helps me focus on the future and enjoy the little moments with my family and gives me brief, practical ideas for how I can make more of those happy moments take place on the Sabbath. This little jewel of a book is just the right resource for keeping perspective.
I love this book. It is very practical. It shares wonderful ideas with all of us normal parents who are looking to make the Sabbath truly enjoyable for our children. Instead of ceasing activities on the sabbath, this book contains a host of ideas and activities to participate in that will draw our children closer to Jesus Christ. I highly recommend it.
I already posted my review on Amazon. Here it is with all the same sincerity.
This book is so much more than a list of 52 ideas that you could just find on the internet.
It does have easy to throw together games and activities for when you didn’t plan and need something right now, but it also has a great plan for filling your calendar and getting your kids to look forward to Sunday. I love the LDS “holidays” to celebrate.
The introduction was speaking directly to me. Yes, my kids get so bored on Sunday. Yes, it seems like a day of just “Don’t do this.” and “Don’t do that.” Yes, I’m always too tired or distracted and don’t know what to tell my kids to do. I’m so glad to have this book. My teen has also gone through it and taken her own notes.
I’m thinking this will be a great family-to-family gift idea this Christmas.
This book provides numerous ways to add meaning to your Sabbath in fun ways! If you are looking for creative ways to help your kids look forward to Sundays and provide meaningful gospel time, then this book is what you are looking for. Lani has included games with a Sabbath day slant, ideas on ways to incorporate family history that you may not have considered before, gospel related anniversaries to celebrate, and many more unique ideas! Her approach is practical: use what works for you! Some families will need to keep it short and simple, while others will spend more time on preparation and use many ideas in one day. I am excited to establish a Sabbath system that my kids can look forward to!
This is a MUST have for young families, or ANYONE needing ideas on making the Sabbath a delight! We have tried and tested many of the ideas, activities and games and our kids love it! Sunday doesn't have to be a day of 'do not's' but SO MANY wonderful things! There are even fun ideas to do throughout the year which create more meaningful family traditions! We are grateful to have this resource!
This book is a MUST HAVE for all young families! I can't say enough wonderful things about it. My attitude, and most importantly, my kids attitude has totally changed about Sunday! We have learned to love the Sabbath through the meaningful, fun, creative, ideas found in this book! It's quick and easy to read, and super easy to start implementing! Our kids have also loved celebrating other 'church holidays' like Joseph Smith's b-day! I can't wait to buy a copy for all my siblings!! It's fabulous!! Best purchase ever!
This is a great resource full of ways to connect with your family on Sunday. My family and I are enjoying trying out these ideas.
