I was drawn to this book because it is so visually appealing. When I saw the title and author, I knew immediately that I had to have it! It was my favorite talk ever by Sister Burton! I bought one for myself, my mom and for my 5 daughters! A feast for the soul and your eyes!

My heart is always on the lookout for books that I can share with women that are not only beautiful but also have inspiring words inside. This book is both!! The words motivate you to turn your heart closer to Christ while the images and the gold printed edges of the book give you the pull to share this every woman you know. I think this book works perfectly for discussing the roles of a Christ-centered woman between mothers and daughters.
I often think of women I would like to give a little gift to that would remind them of their value, faith, strength, kindness and love they can give to those in their circle of influence, and I think that this book makes the perfect gift for them! I love all the bright colors and art that accompany the excerpts from Sister Burton's talk, and feel it would be a great reminder to anyone who reads it that they are also one of these "certain women".

This book is a gem! I found my eyes welling up with tears as I turned the pages. The message is poignant and needed more so today, than EVER! The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and I truly cherished every last page. This book would make the PERFECT gift for Mother's Day. I was so excited when I saw this book! This talk by Sister Burton was my very favorite! When she was done speaking, I wanted to jump in the air and shout “AMEN!” Every Latter-day Saint woman and young woman needs to study this talk. The book is beautiful with lovely illustrations and photos throughout. Perfect gift for Mother’s Day, birthdays, or to girls graduating this year! I’ve had the book sitting on my piano this past week and every time someone comes to my home, they pick it up and thumb through it and comment on how lovely it is!
I had never really sat and pondered on the phrase "Certain Women" until picking up this beautiful book by Sister Burton. Her examples of what and who Certain Women are rang true to my heart. I now find myself striving to be considered a certain woman. The artwork in the book is absolutely beautiful as well, with a nice fluid movement between the scriptural references and latter-day examples.

However, even more important than the "look and feel" are the words shared within. The content comes from Linda Burton's April 2017 conference talk, chronicling some of the most influential women in the history of the church. We need more books like this that document the important role of women in Christianity.
As I read Sister Burton's words I reflected on the certain women in my life that inspire me through their dedicated service to the Lord. The beautiful J. Kirk Richards paintings of Christ were a favorite for me.
This book is just beautiful! Yes, the text is directly from Pres. Burton's talk "Certain Women." But the design, artwork and poetic rendering of the text made the talk all the more meaningful for me. I love the gentle watercolors used and the sincere artwork of J. Kirk Richards. This would make an excellent gift to just about anyone. We need to use more examples of righteous women in talks, lessons and devotionals, and this talk boldly encourages that.
This book is stunning. I knew I would love the message that it was delivering, but I had no idea that all the details and all the artwork would be so beautiful. It makes a great display piece on my side table. It is a quick read when I want to feel inspired. I also am giving it to my mom for her birthday coming up and think would make a fantastic present for birthdays or Mother's Day.
I remember hearing Linda K. Burton deliver her talk about Certain Women in April of 2017. I went digging for my notes from her address. These are some of the words I jotted down: A certain woman is centered in Christ, sometimes it means making sacrifices, what is on my “can” list? Am I a certain woman?
Her message rang true to women who were certain in what they knew to be true.
What a fun discovery to find her talk had been made into a beautiful hardback book, full of bright colors there is an immediate feeling of hope. I loved each page with its gold edges and beautiful artwork as well as the fun geometric cutouts with colors peeking through. With the Christ-centered theme, it would be a perfect addition to anyone’s Easter celebration or as a Mother’s Day gift.
