This contemporary romance is set in Washington D.C. between Kari and Ryan. Kari has just moved away from the South after learning that her boyfriend has a fiancée and has been lying to her all this time. Ryan is a professional baseball player who has sworn off dating women since they only seem interested in his career and what he can do for their lifestyle. When Kari’s brother asks her to play along as Ryan’s girlfriend to get his ex-fiancee off his back, she sees no problem having a little fun. But when her heart becomes involves, the game will change. This was a pretty fast read. The main characters were fun, and the side characters added charm to the story as well. As the two MC get to know each other, they must overcome fears and demons from the past and figure out how to make both their dreams come true together. The odds seem stacked against them. I really enjoyed this one.
